My 172 that I used to own ran 166bhp std before I modded it.
With a viper, de-cat and smt6 chip/piggyback ecu I got 182bhp.
With a viper, de-cat, smt6, cams, exhaust I got 195bhp
With de-cat, cams and itb's I got 218bhp.
eww don't waste your money mate. Go to prospeed and get one cut into your bumper with a 182 exhaust trim. Search for some pictures on 172 mk1 exhausts.
Looks crap. Reminds me of a c2 vtr. No matter how many of these new clio 197's I look at, I don't like them. Actually with the exception of the cup, that looks alright but I still wouldn't buy one.

What conversion is that? Is it the 1.7 volvo engine?
Seems f**king rapid.
Mine had the std rad but it would look better with a shortened rad but it's more money and isn't really needed. I wouldn't have really gained a better inlet temperature from having a shorter radiator, the inlet temperature with the std rad was very good.
How much of a difference has the LSD...
Didn't think the movies did the noise justice. Sounds totally different when your in it.
I average about 24mpg. I don't do long journeys so it's not that bad really. Probably spend £40-50 a week on fuel. Not much more than my 172 before it was bodied.
Cup is capable of 139mph? V6 is capable of 155mph+. I did 140mph in mine in 5th gear, I hadn't even changed to 6th. Not sure what the top speed is on mine.
I've owned a 172 mk1 on individual throttle bodies which was running 218bhp and the clio v6 mk1 (230bhp).
0-60 the 172 was slightly...
I know, I should have raised the seat.
Me and Fred talked about this the other night. He said the nose of the car seems to feel very light at about 140mph.
I wouldn't say my steering goes light at 100mph. It's very different at 140mph though. Was scared of hitting a pothole in case the car...
Throttle bodied clio's are not shockingly quick. 225bhp in a clio can seem a lot compared to it's standard power figures. Trust me, like any other car, it feels f**king quick when you first drive it but you soon get used to the power and want more.
Mine was running 218bhp, Yoz's was running...
Thanks mate, the bodied 172 sounded raw, the v6 sounds completely different. Almost electrical. The sound is something else! It really does sound great when your actually in the car and can hear the big v6 singing behind you.
