They are just part of the stock picture. I'm going to use the standard cam pulleys as I wish to retain the VVT functionality.
You would generaly use adjustable pullies in none VVT engines when it was neccesary to have some adjustability in the cam timing, either to ensure it is absolutely as...
Funded entirely via my stable of bi'atches and massive coke imports :D or the fact that I flogged my Impreza, stuck a few K in the bank and am building this with whats left.
Paid 2.5 for the car which I was happy with as it was a completely standard, no accident damage car. Have stuck a 1000...
In some way, shape or form yes - and still with the Super Endurance Clio. The suite of upgrades for 2009 have had to be cut back slightly due to economic conditions but we shall be on the grid defending our highest points scoring status in Britcar Productions next year.
At the moment its...
Re: clio cup race car project!
I always prefer as much solid line as possible due to improved feel over lots of braided. Braided is much tougher than rubber brake hose but still has some give and over a long enough run its sufficent to feel.
The original Noble M12's were braided throughout...
Considering its one of the least powerful/heaviest cars in Britcar it doesn't half give a good account of itself! We sneaked a bit of a look at the AM's data in the 24 and were quite surprised several of their corner exit speeds were lower than ours! :-)
Cheers

Stick me a PM over mate. If you're free over Xmas I shall be spending most of it in the workshop so you can pop it down then. About half a day to do it and you will need some test sessions as well to properly set your compression and rebound rates, assuming you have adjustability?
Cheers

I've done quite a bit with Jenvey TB's on various engines in the past although there are better options out there for ITB's - albeit not at anywhere near the same price point. The Jenveys whilst quite a classic design do work very well for the money.
I've mapped a couple of Omex/Gems Mini...
I quite like Brands, its pretty technical and not a lot beats Paddock at full chat, I like corners where if you get it right the first half feels like the start of a huge off :D
Cage is definitely sensible for a heavily track biased car but you really need it properly padded and seats with head...
That exhaust is stupid heavy! Heavier than the complete system on the Super Endurance 197.... however it was cheap and therefore in budget ;-)
Thinking more 7500RPM at the moment for reliability but will know more once its been on the dyno and I can see where the power starts to drop off...
Total Cnut mate ;-) Although that 197 Super Endurance car is my favourite Icy production! It was the highest points scoring car in the entire Britcar Production S1 Championship and took first in class in the under 2000CC class in this years Britcar 24 hour. I designed, developed and managed the...
1.02 - 1.04 depending on version.
58.5 is realistic. If it all comes right and we put (Cr)Ashley in it after starving him of silk cut for half a day it might see a 58 ;-)
Cheers

58.5 is a pretty good target for a 200bhp/tonne car that isn't heavily track focused. I can build something that with 10bhp power/weight less will do high 55's but it would be horrendous/unusable on the road. I really want to build a 'super' cup i.e a 172 Cup in every way thats better in every...
When the build starts I'll be updating it from the 'shop so updates and pics should appear pretty thick and fast then.
Blog is half for me as well really as I never really do build diaries for anything. Just have a load of drawings, spreadsheets and facts and figures once done. Always forget...
Cambs so fairly. Brands is one of my favourite tracks and the kind of cars I've been building lately get on really well at Brands. It was that or Silverstone GP and GP looks boring on the in car video ;-)

Build diary of my Clio Super Cup Project
http://cliosupercup.blogspot.com/
In short 100bhp/litre, 200bhp/tonne, road useable, 58.5 second target around Brands Hatch. 7 Day build time. Xmas project ;-)

Got a full Clio Cup 197 cage in stock, rear half will go but cage will need modifying and it seems a bit rude to chop a full FIA spec Matter roll cage up ;-)

TDK FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
You know how I feel about TDK Naith - can't wait to get her on my corner weight scales!!!
Let me know when your next track day is and I'll see if one of our tame racing drivers can be tempted out with a mars bar and a can/gram of coke to give you some tips...
I drove Pauls supercharged Clio the other week. Amazing bit of kit! Its been a long time since I was so impressed with something. Not only does it have bags of power but it is so tractable its untrue! It makes power all the way up the rev range and has such a smooth torque curve. Still pulls...
Yep run TPS as primary load sensing. Idealy some sort of Barometric sensing is handy to take into account changes in air pressure and altitude although you can get away without it if you build a bit of 'room' into the calibration.

The Group N calibration (assuming it is a proper R-Sport supplied one and not some aftermarket remap flogged as Group N) maintains 14.7:1 at idle conditions i.e. steady state 0% throttle position. As such with a Cat on you should pass emissions no problem at all.

The discs lasted 24 hours no problem. They'd have had about another half hour or so in them.
We ran Performance Friction 01 compound pads which lasted pretty much bang on 12 and a half hours. Again with about another hour in them.
No issues with brake temp etc. and bearing in mind its...
We had more than that.
Both head lights are HID with full beam (which the standard race car doesn't have) and there are two more HID projector beams behind the grill (hence why the grill is cut out each side) which light the apex of each corner.
6 HID's in total - we just did it in a way...
You're both right LOL
The EPAS unit failed just before the end of the race. Luckily at that point we had pulled a big lead out on the Elise and MG and as a result they still couldn't put sufficent laps in during the time remaining to overtake us. Afterall its how many laps can you do in 24...
Yep the BPM Racing and Gamma Motorsport Clio Cup 197 Enduro took 1st in Class and 16th overall in the Silverstone Britcar 24 hours this weekend from a starting position of 42nd on the Grid.
For the 24 BPM and Gamma had joined forces to field the BPM Clio with Gamma Driver Gary Whitehead as...
Nah the pace car is definately slower at Brands mate. At Silverstone in the snow with slicks on the pace car is the fastest thing on the circuit though ;-)
The Clio is so slow that its running 3rd in Class 2 though....... 50bhp down on the nearest next car in the championship yet we are still 5...
