Hi
There is a technical solution to this problem. Renault are aware of this and have released a paper to the network. I cant remember the exact cure at this time but I will look it up and post the solution early next week.

Telford Mike is absolutely spot on.
Renault do have an updated programme to download to your cars ECU to overcome this stalling problem. Take it back to your dealer and insist this upgrade is carried out. ITS free!

Sorry to hear you are receiving bad service from your local Renault dealers!
Door rattles are normally caused by several factors.
1. There is a drip rail made of plastic attached to the bottom of the glass which can fall off or partially fall off which will rattle.
2. There is the side...
Yep - you are right. It should work even though its an import.
Try this.
Press and hold the button on the end of the wiper switch, then turn on the ignition, the trip computer should go through a self test mode. Release the button and then press it again. You should now see some more...
Hi.
If you have your ABS warning light illuminating, this suggests that there is a problem with the system. Renault dealers have a diagnostic aid called CLIP. It can interogate several computers and lead the technician to the source of the problem. Once it has been diagnosed the cure should be...
Hi everyone with a heater that never gets hot.
Firstly, does your temperature gauge read at least 1/4 to 1/2 on the gauge? (if your Clio has a temp gauge)
If the temp gauge reads normal and you still get no heat, then the most likely cause is a blocked heater matrix (radiator inside the car)...
Trip computer not working.
Please specify not working?
Have you a series of dashes where you would expect to see some results?
Can you run through all the options by pressing the button on the wiper stalk?
I need more info to help you.

Hi everyone with a heater on the Clio that only works on speed 1.
The fault is with the connector and or the heater resistor pack.
The heater blower motor and resistor is located under the plastic trim below the windscreen. You can gain access to these items by opening the flap where the...

It all comes down to the bottom line.
Pay what you will and what you can afford.
But you will have to live with what you have paid for.
Main dealers ARE expensive in comparison, but they have to send staff on regular training courses and buy special tools for every new model released in...
HA! You have experienced the mighty TORQUE STEER of the Clio 172 Cup!
Also, beware of the hard braking from +100 mph to rest, the back end has a mind of its own! Scared the S*** out of me 1st time from 100 to Zero after running out of road!
Enjoy, and be safe!
I will check the EXACT figure at work tomorrow and post a definitve answer!
I may not be correct at the moment but I will return! 10mm to 35mm ?
For vehicles equipped with a brake compensator, they will need to be set up after suspension adjustments as well.
Ill be back

Congratulation on buying your Clio Cup 172!
A lot of things have been written about how to "run in a new engine"
Some say run it in gently
Some say thrash it from day one!
Some say a genlty run in engine is always sliggish
Some say a thrashed engine goes like a whippet
The chioce is...
I will need to check the actual amount of MM travel per click of the torsion bar, but if memory serves me right, 1 click or spline of the torsion bar equates to approx 10mm of ride height.
The 4 bar suspension system requires a great deal of knowledge to get it right. Its all to do with spline...

You are absolutely right! No 95 Clio had AC not as (UK) standard anyway.
However, the Renault system for looking up parts does ask some strange questions, EVEN WHEN YOU ENTER ALL THE VEHICLE DETAILS!
This, once again, comes down to the product knowledge of the parts person involved. These...
Hi Steve
I am sure they are a reputable garage but horses for courses
Yes, there MAYBE something you can do about it, if you signed the job sheet/card on arrival! Main dealers get you to sign this for the benefit of both parties.
You have entered a contract with your garage for the...

I do not work in the parts dept (thank God) but I do work in the workshop of a large Renault franchise!
I encounter parts related problems EVERY day but this is minimised by supplying the info they require to do their job to the best of their ability!
Try it next time - it just might help...
