Is the shift light on all 172s? only had mine a few days but not noticed it yet.
Took me a while to notice mine - its green, shaped like a gear stick and in the top right (i think) of the dash. Im normally paying more attention to the road...
Only just read this thread, absolutely gutted for you Rhys. Hope the f*ckers that did it get all they deserve. On the plus side (if there is one) like others have said you wont lose all your NCB, it will probably just shrink from 5 years to 3.

When I had my VTR (sorry ) some f*ckers stole all 4 of my alloys and left it on bricks!!!
And they were only the standard alloys!!!
And they had locking nuts on them - that taught me not to leave the locking key in my glove box ever again.
Ive just been quoted £180 for my 172 12,000 mile service (from Renault Nottingham). Apparently its more expensive than the rest of the Clio range because the pollen filter has to be changed!
About 6-7 years ago I remember everyone loving Dimma kits but then they kinda just stopped talking about them. I remember my mate had a bright yellow peugeot 205 Dimma with a MI16 engine in it. Very quick.
Dont know if this helps but exactly the same happened to my clio. Like bambam said it was a loose seatbelt pretensioner on mine. It took two trips to Renault Nottingham to fix it even though they said the first time they were aware of the problem and knew how to fix it.

HypeI think my car looks better with its own wheels on!!
me too !!!
I only used your car because it was such a beautifully clean and photgraphed example.
Plus Im worried that the monkeys at the Garage might decide to thrash my car round the block a couple of times.
Should I expect them to need to drive it any distance at all? (except in and out of the service area obviously)
My 172 is fast approaching its first service and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much I should be looking at paying (if all goes well). I was going to phone a few Renault dealers anyway ang get a couple of written quotes but it would be good to have idea in my head...
