Forgot to mention spec -_-
It's Decatted, RS Tuner pops and bangs map, Stainless exhaust and ASH custom air fliter. All of which I've had for ages and had no previous problems with MPG.
Hi all! I'm at my whits end now so hope you can help.
My Clio's MPG has taken a sudden downward drop, I used to get around 42mpg easily on the motorway but now I'm struggling to get 29-30mpg.
The only thing I've changed is to fix a blowing exhaust with a bit of silicon RTV, Where I unplugged...
Keep seeing a silver 172 in Whitwell, drives past my house pretty much every day and waved to me last week when I was fixing a GoPro mount to my Black 182! Was it you?! Next time come for a chat! :)
Admiral, Bell and Elephant are all the same company but their prices vary wildly, get a quote with Adrian Flux, because a standard car for me was more to insure than one with an exhaust, induction kit, coilovers and after-market wheels. (by about £200 too!)
Thanks for the reply mate, and apologies for getting upset, I've changed my tampon now, so all is well ;) I know exactly what you mean, It's about the driving experience not the speed, I'd rather be battering around Cadwell in my Clio than in a remapped diesel golf... (My old car) The golf is...
I was quite clearly joking, I know it is impossible for an engine to create it's own gravity field, I was having a laugh. 3bhp is obviously not much... A Peugeot speedfight moped has more power than that airfilter gains... I know it isn't much. With the amount of posts and the look of the car in...
Alright, no need to be a nob. I'm not a chav obsessing over 3bhp, I'm surprised there's a filter available for my engine that doesn't loose loads of power like most of the others do. Starting to think this forum is a waste of time...
Lol I'm not having a go mate, just saying under normal driving, you will not notice any difference, if you over-take something, you knock it down a cog... Naturally, we all know they're not diesels or turbo'd... Then you're in the power anyway. So in my opinion, it's beneficial to have +3.5 hp...
Well I don't know about you, but when I'm not caning it... I'm not driving around with my foot to the floor, it's steady accelleration when your engine is only making 50bhp tops... Regardless of what it is, what mods you have or anything... The dyno graph is a representation of what a car is...
Regardless of power gains and losses anyway, the new power delivery, noise and throttle response of the new filter setup is better than the standard airbox with an ITG filter... That's my opinion, one which is shared by several other people that have similar setups. Even if it is slower, it's...
Why would you prefer lower end power? It's a 16 valve and needs to be revved... You wont be making 183.5 hp at 5000 revs, and if you re-map them, it raises the rev limiter anyway, also possibly unlocking more power because of the air filter...
Yes you do loose 5hp low down, but the increased kick you get at 5000 rpm makes up for that in fun factor, and once you're in the power-band creating your own gravity field, when you change gear, you're still in that power-band, so you're definitely better off with this kit than some of the...
The links are a bit messed up on my last post... You want to go to http://www.deadening.co.uk/andhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Roof-Gutter-Instant-Patch-Tape/dp/B003VOQDF8/ref%3Dsr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399976353&sr=8-1&keywords=roof+repair+tape
Lol in all seriousness though, why not use some sound deadening in the boot area? Such as this... http://www.deadening.co.uk/You could also use this stuff... http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003VOQDF8/?tag=cliospnet01-21 put under the carpets if you really want to go to town, it will add weight...
I will shortly be making a headlight air intake for use on the track/drag strip to direct nice cool air straight at the filter... Based on this thread; http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?536031-Cup-Racer-headlight-CAF
I'll keep you all posted! :p
