the extra rpm is over rev for corners so you dont get caught between gears. doesnt mean theres power there. look at the grapgh it shows the power dropping at 6200rpm.
there isnt its just a discussion. its good to have more than one perspective and experience on things. overall it helps everyone undertand things better.
when comparing our 2 graphs taking away different rollers on different days, you can see his tails off top end. yeah?
when driving your car does your 182 feel like its tailing off at 6200? i know mine didnt.
think of an ecu with a load of numbers set for performance and mpg etc a remap changes...
i dont have a 182 anymore i sold it. when i had it i only put a de cat and panal filter on as my cat got a hole in it and i got the filter for free. lol
would of been good to of seen a before and after on yours. theres a video on here somewhere of our rolling road day. ill try link it.
well i know that. we were just comparing the graphs as you see them. a map doesnt magically create power, JRS182's map has sacrificed top end for mid range you can clearly see it. so using mine as a reference for all standard map 182's then you clearly see it reaches higher peak power and holds...
youve missed a big point out though. look where his power tails off then look at mine. mine is holding a higher bhp for longer with hardly any drop off.
i tried a de cat on my 182 and looking at them youd think there must be an increase but there isnt, just that whistle noise goes and ya emissions light comes on. maybe with a remap it makes a difference. my 172cup had a full exhaust on and that def made a difference, well it sounded faster...
i just think it takes the character away from the engine without any real gain in performance. it takes that explosive edgyness feeling away is the only way i can explain it.
i did hear theres a few maps to choose from and you could keep the 5k kick on an updated one. dunno how true that is...
if you compare your graph with mine the tuner has added some mid range which he maybe did in expense of top end power. i tried a 172cup with rs tuner and hated it. prefer the 5k kick which you clearly see on mine
there def out there. trouble is no one wants to pay a premium for a good example so i think people end up holding onto them. my 182cup i sold last year was imaculate in every way apart from slight melting on the steering wheel and by far the best 182 id ever drove or been in and i struggled to...
Yeah I believe there's an updated AI nick named AI HD. Lol which has realised about using boost as a switch is not the best way to go. I'll link the thread later on here. Fella knows his s**t he raced rotaries in 24 hour races for a long time and still owns an rx7.
The benefits it gives I'd get it on. But I suppose you have a single turbo and mani so a lot of the heat will be reduced anyway, but it's supposed to reduce carbon build up aswell which is obviously good for the engine in the long run.
If you run the kits digitally it shuts everything down...

they talk the talk alrite.
re read the thread and you do run AI.
do you run AI malice? interesting stuff, just read a thread about rotaries being bomb proof if you take away the heat that the badly designed turbos and mani create.

I don't have the tools, garage or the knowledge to take the engine out and put it back in though. Lol
Doesnt that 3.7k one have the most ridiculously sized spoiler in the world on? Lol there's 2 red ones simarly priced and a black one for 3.3k with a aftermarket front bumper.
I read around 700bhp was about the limit then the engines really don't last that long and become unpredictable. That was rx7 forum which is American so could be bullshit. There's a fella on eBay rebuilds them from 1900 Inc vat. Think that lad with the red rx7 we just talked about used him...
thought i hadnt heard anymore about it. lol he was going for 650bhp wasnt he? thats getting on for hand grenade territory that. lol oh and ive noticed a few creepin up on ebay for just over 3k, wont be long ; ).
