Yeh, the uk ones had a crap version of the symbian 3 on it. if you flash it and alter it to a european phone (warning: voids nokia warrenty) you can then use the nokia service update, updates the version from 2.8 to 3.06, fixes the problem with the bluetooth dropping signal and speeds up...

I was in the same predicament a couple of months back, in the end went for the n73 because of the features. great phone, it isn't massive but it isn't exactly small.
