Yeh mine was a bored out 1600 to 1700, i got the flat top BDA pistons by mistake should of got lotus twin cam ones, as the bda ones went almost to the tops of the cylinders. So my phase 4 flat top head was no good, lukly my friend gave me the chambered race head for free. I used to use the kent...

Well i think the 16v will most likly make a beter engine, its a newer more modern design, and if you put in the right components drop the compresion and fit a turbo it will most likly beat the old gtt lump, as said above its got the more cc. And for the price your paying it may be an all steel...

Well i best dig out my old winter play car out and get it a mot and some tax and insurance. A 300bhp sunny gti-r and even got some snow tyres for the winter aswell for it. No getting stuck in the snow for me.
Might have a stretched clutch cable or a worn cable outer causing the clutch to not disengage properly. As the auto ajuster can only ajust for so much.
But then again i may be wrong.:)
I take it these spacers sit on the top or inder the springs then. Was wondering if its worth just getting mod springs like you have or going for the full shox and springs.
The prima site has been down for a while now, but looks like they have shifted servers and hopefully a new web site will be up real soon. K-tecs site has been working fine for myself.

Well when i mean keeping costs down im not talking about a full race engine as i know how much they cost to build, used to rally cars but had to give up due to costs involved. Just what can be achived without major mods to the bottom end and exterior looks( ie. throttle bodies). So that realy...
Ive made some of these before for a friends kit car(when i was an engineer) got some good quality steel EN 32 i think then turned the spacer then drilled and bored out the new holes to whatever the PCD was. Also turned a step on the main bore to fit the hubs. Quite easy to make if you have the...
I used to run twin 40s on a nova 1.3, just had to get them re jetted and set up to run. Also ran twin 45s on my rally car was a ford xflow that was making around 160-170 bhp from a 1.7L engine. Setting up is the most important thing, you need to get the corect size. Acording to my chart for a...
So you think il be able to achive this with only top end changes. But what about not using throttle bodies. Would flowing work on the inlet manifolds as well as the head make much difference. Along with cams. Just want to realy keep the cost down with out ripping out all the injection system...
Anyone have any suggestions on how i coulg get over 200 bhp from my mk 2 172. Without using nos. And how much do you think it would cost to achive this.
Will it be an exact copy..? Just a one for detail thats all. How much for fitting..? And will i need to get some offset wheels or spacers to make it look right..?
Thanks for being up for making this kit.
