Finally given up on the clio

it went to danny a couple of weeks ago and everything checked out fine (apart from the camber being a bit on the extreme side) which left only a knocking sound coming from the rack area/newly replaced rack. it's currently at a renault dealer who have had a good look at it and have advised the...

the camera has other uses- a road rage deterrent! i overtook a car today and he took particular exception and sped up behind me flashing his lights, beeping his horn, gesticulating to pull over etc, etc. i think he thought i was right up his arse as he did a brake check on me despite not being...

    Negative camber on standard parts...?!?

toe is pretty much spot on, danny @ 519 set it on the weekend. i did mention afterwards that the camber looked a little better after adjusting the toe, but i don't remember if we checked it again!

Just done the rstuner thing and....

i've been reading up some more on super unleaded and it was mentioned on a random forum for bikes: Super unleaded isn't appropriate for your bike, I think. Super doesn't mean better in this case - it means higher octane. I don't think I'm surprised your bike struggles to start with it - the...

    Negative camber on standard parts...?!?

not -1.5 though. my fronts are wearing on the inside at a fairly rapid rate

    Negative camber on standard parts...?!?

the camber is -1.5 degrees on both sides. it does have solid top mounts but these are non-adjustable and hold the strut in the middle of the mount. the joints are relatively new, as are wishbone bushes. only other thing i could think of was the struts doing something funny. it's not lowered...

i think that any vids worth posting will only come up once a month to be honest so i'll probably start a new thread for any others. this one has generated five pages of discussion so any new videos posted would get lost. however i do have a jpg of something i came across yesterday... v.lucky...

    Sloppy Gearstick

ok thanks. i understand that play left-right is probably the ball joint, but what about up-down play when in gear, could that still be the housing or is it likely to be at the gearbox end? how much is the other kit with the fancy gearstick + knob?

Just done the rstuner thing and....

hi, ok i found a pattern. i've been trying different fuels and this is what i found: with 95 ron i get stuttering under 2k revs with anything over approx 15% throttle with bp 97 ron i only get very slight stuttering under 1.5revs with anything over approx 15% throttle with vpower 98 ron i get...

    Sloppy Gearstick

i had a look and couldn't be sure if it was the linkage or something inside the box. linkage itself is connected fine so it's either play in the box or in balljoint on the gearstick, does this video help point to one or the other. this is the sort of play i get when it's in gear

i have one of those too :) plugs into the diagnostic port on the car and link it with android phone over bluetooth, it records engine speed, revs, gps position, gps clock, as well as engine parameters like manifold pressure, ignition advance, etc. you can save the data and lay it over the top of...

:) it can be pointed wherever you want and has two joints on the arm so can be mounted a few different ways. if you can do without the little screen i think you can get one that looks like a torch for £15.
