You'll need to check that board compatability.. but the CPU is dual core. (People are saying in the review it works ok with the X2 CPU's.. but I'd double check on the manufacturer site!)
The CPU is OEM tho, which means it doesn't come with a heatsink and fan, so you'll need to add one on!

Poor. OSX, turn on printer, file - print, and it's there (providing it's a network printer and mDNS'd ;))

if I was recommending a distro to a new user, I'd always say Ubuntu.. it's based on Debian, so it wins by default...
It's perfectly possible for £0 and a bit of hardware if you use a Linux Proxy solution.
It could be ISA Server which does cost money, it could be Squid, it could be bespoke software, it could even be a piece of hardware .. but, it's definetly possible.. ;)
