Not according to Renault.
For coolant temp below 75deg = 6700rpm limit
For coolant temp above 75deg in 1st or 2nd = 7200rpm
For coolant temp above 75deg in 3rd, 4th or 5th = 7000rpm
Didn't even think there was an oil temp sensor on the block?
Nothing to do with oil temp. It works on water temp. When it is above 75 deg you will get the full rev limit but you are better waiting 10mins after water is at temp before red lining.
Some of them will be sequential such as the head bolts, cam cover and sump and some will be angular as well such as exhaust cam pulley, crank pulley.
From the ones I have done recently and can remember:
Front Hubs nuts : 280Nm
Rear Hub Nuts : 175Nm
Big Ends : 38Nm
Crankshaft Bolt : 30Nm plus...
The way I understand it, it is not about flow of coolant through the turbo when it is running, it is the syphon effect when the engine is off. If you use the feed from the thermostat to the header tank for your turbo, there is an air gap at the top of the header tank and so the syphon effect...
Nice goodies again!
It's a 14" fan I've got too. Just fitted it and never used it in anger so can't say if it's upmto the job or not yet.
I'll get the flywheel out on Thursday if that ok?
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Hope it looks as aggresive when the bumper is on! :p
Hopefully this will let me bully the scooby and evo boys to get out the road at KH! :D
I'll be keeping an eye on how you get on with this as I need to bring my stick back a bit as I am a similar size and have a 50mm extension to my wheel and felt the reach from the wheel was slightly too much.
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Mine was leaking slightly before going on the rollers to get mapped and by the time we were finished it was like Niagara Falls so I would not recommend doing these events before knowing where the leak is...

Mine was leaking badly from the same area. Thought it was the crank seal but ended up being the cover plate was loose. Had to take the engine out for other things and so was easy to sort that when it was out.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Cheers mate, appreciate the comment.
I just cant get away with how good it sounds even under part throttle. I'll get a vid up once I can rev it a bit.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Update time!
Right, after my oil worries of yesterday, today was a lot better. Yesterday, I tried dry cranking the engine with the plugs out but could not get any oil pressure. After talking it through with some very helpful and knowledgeable fellow forumers, I decided...
What actually drives the crank sprocket for the chain of the oil pump?
Is it keyed from the crank, compression when the crank pulley is tightened or something else?
Thanks Danny, I'll give that a try in the morning.
Was just scared to start it if it never got pressure it would trash the engine. How long would you think it should take to build pressure and should I just leave at idle until I know there is oil flowing?
