I'd just put it on the positive and negative on the battery! But yeah start her up make sure the reading is above 12volts! And also make sure it doesn't go above 15.6volts (I think) as this is the cut off point for the alternator to stop charging!

Alternator not being able to keep up with all the current draw, maybe just a bad earth or a dodgy alternator. Put a multimeter on the battery with it running and turn on all your consumers (apart from indicators) one by one and see if the alternator can take the draw.

I just phoned Renault about the pricing and everything! She told me its not a recall but Renault UK call it a 'Yellow Notice' meaning that someone will inspect it and if they think it will need changing, they will change it, paid for by Renault. So basically a recall without the name!

7 cup packs? What were they? My old man used to work at a main dealer and have a 172 as a company car, I asked him an he couldn't remember, the only ones he could remember was the 182 cup packs!! Its just you don't see them advertised at all if there is a such thing... I cant find anything...

I thought you could only get a 182 FF and that was with both cup packs. Can you get the 'packs' on a 172?
