Castrol GTX is good oil, so you shouldnt have any problem using it. The Mobil 1 stuff is very thin, but a good oil, but for an engine like the 172, I wouldnt imagine you would get any benefit from using it over the Castrol oil, and the Mobil 1 costs more. Magnatex is also good to have...
