Emphasises the point even more then Danny, don't you think? My prices were all approximate from memory. So to quote given, garage is giving 6 hours labour for free, and taking a loss of around £130.
Tools are around £150 iirc, cambelt kit £120 ish say, aux belt kit £100 (can't remember real prices of kits).
You must be a good mate of this mechanic, if he's giving you 4 hours of his time and taking a £70 loss mate...
Doesn't add up pal, that's all I'm saying.
Cutting 2x holes in a PHS 1 bumper wouldn't cut it for me mate. Wouldn't look right due to factory shape, ie with little bit missing. Better to do on a PHS 2 bumper, or leave as Papa intended FTW;)

Vert arty pic....love it !! Could be straight from Renault parts brochure..
To the OP, cost of locking tools, + cost of cam and aux belt kits = Not even worth considering doing it yourself for me(if that's what you're planning). £450 for change all in.
Hello and welcome mate;)
£2K will get you a very good example of a phase 1 172. Just need to not rush in, and be prepared to wait a little. As already said some go for next to nothing, where others are overpriced IMO. Main issue now will be that should have had 2x belt changes unless you get a...
This mate^^^^
Stick with Nankangs for now, and put money towards belts. As said Michelins although very good, are not essential and are expensive. Other tyres which are just as good can be found for less money...
