Well!
It should be finished in a few weeks. I say finished, I mean the engine, then its put the interior back in!
Had a bit of a set back when I blew one of the turbos on my Supra.!
Ben, Thats true, forgot to mention that. That would probably be suitable for the boost that would be used. Cant run too much on the standard compression pistons.
If you want to run anything more that 4-5 psi without blowing the engine to pieces then you will need an intercooler or chargecooler, otherwise the charge temprature will be far too hot and you will just get really bad detonation when ever you put your foot down.
Also, you will not get any...
Ok then, I also have a strut brace on my Twin turbo Supra, it also makes a big difference compared to not having one. The chasis is extreemly stiff even without it, alot more so than a Clio.
For the sake of £40, get one, it WILL make a difference.
I have to dissagree.
After I fit the strut brace to my 5 the difference in how the car turned into corners was masive, one of the best mods I done to my car.
I used it when I had both standard and Koni shocks on the car too, and it made a masive difference in both instances.
Just my view.!
Thats rubbish, you cant just add 10mm to the bottom of the bore. The crank doesnt alter is length as it goes round!
If the difference is 10mm then it would be 10mm top and bottom. The only way to get round it would be to physically lower the crank its self which is not practical as you...
The only differnce you will see in your 172 or Valver will be to the MPG, and even then it will be very marginal.
It will not make any noticable difference to the performance. You might get 1bhp more, but then on a cold morning you could also get the odd 1 or 2bhp more as opposed to a hot...
The way they usually fit on is in between the engine and oil filter, with two lines comming off. Like a mounting plate that screws into the oil filter position, and the oil filter screws ontop of that.
Does that make sence!?
Your getting it the wrong way round!
Volvo used Renault engines. Well, the blocks and G/boxs anyway. The old Volvo 440/460/480 turbos were all made by Renault but with Volvo head and manifolds.
Personally Id go with a Willy engine if I wanted more power from a 1.4RT. The 5 turbo engine would be a cheeper option if you dont mind changing the engine mount positions to get it to fit. It would also be a bit cheeper if you decided you wanted to tune it too. As Im in the 5 turbo OC too I...
Nick - I could be if you knew what sort of time your going to be there. Lunch time would be ideal, but would be a little more difficult to get away any other time.!
drop me an email when you know what day youll be about.!
Nick - SCC are about a 2 min drive from my place. Im getting a custom exhaust made anyway with lifetime guarantee, which is going to be more or less a straight through pipe with minimal silencing.
