Need a little help if possible? I've recently changed my mind and decided to get a 172 (any variety) and get rid of the 1.2. Now I can sell the 1.2 for £3,400 (minter) and I can realistically add another £5,000 to that leaving me with £8,400 to spend. I know I'd get a decent example for that...

Check the wiring loom running under the dash near the bonnet release on the left hand side, sometimes can be loose and results in the immobiliser kickin in. I had this problem for ages, broke down a while back and couldnt get a jump, called highways to tow me back, charged me £75 +vat to plug...

Although I've only got a 1.2 16v, I do tend to try and get the most out of it where I can. I don't tend to thrash it, steady away through 1st, 2nd and 3rd, then keep my foot planted to the deck through 4th and 5th and drive at speed. I have to go through a lot of wide A-Roads on my way to work...

I've got an 01 1.2 16v Dynamique, and I love it! It is perhaps a little underpowered (had a go in my mates 182 and it scared me!) but certainly for a first car its more than adequate. Reaches 70+ quick enough, and it'll pull 110 on the motorway. Its a lot quicker than my mates 1.2 fiesta, so...
