i just picked my car up from renault today, 1.2 16v, i got 60 miles out of £10 worth of petrol, but there was a funny wee light on the dash board. Also id been gettin an average of 34 mpg for months..... dodgy lambda sensor! all sorted now tho and its sooo much easier on petrol (and i ragged it...
na mate its deffo not on the bump stops!
Wheres the best place to buy konis online? Will they lower the car any more and are they ok used with the 60mm pi springs?
As i said in another post, ive a clio 2002 1.2 16v and its lowered 60mm on pi springs - 17 " wheels. Im fed up with the springs and i reckon its time for some decend shocks.
I wouldnt mind the car a bit lower but if it has to sit the same height i dont mind... Dont wanna spend a fortune on a...
aye, some places charge 60 quid for a spoiler so i suppose that price wasnt too bad!
p.s, whats the sprayed splitter bit at the bottom like? i was gonna get mine sprayed but was sorta put off by it when i drove into a kerb one nite whilst not lookin where i was goin
cant help u on the bodyshops bit but i was quoted £120 to colour code the strips on front bumper, rear bumper, sides of car and door handles. Another fella quoted me £70.
Oh and wudnt recommend the halfords spray can thing as it would probably turn out a nice shade of pink.
Im lowered 60mm on pi springs on 205/40/17s, and all i can say is buy the full kit shocks and all first time round!!!
Springs do the job ok, if u have nice smooth roads and dont rag your car much. And it handles like a go kart yes, but its hard as flip on 17s, would knock the fillings out of...
what do u suggest then? some of those rather tasty fake rear discs?? lool!!
it doesnt bother me, everyone knows its a 1.2, im not going to disguise that fact, and i like my alloys. Oh and my rear drums are bigger than my bfs and hes runnin 18" oz superleggeras on a 1.6 306, yaaay!
to be honest mine doesnt really bother me... id rather hear the good old renault engine tapping away and be safe in the knowledge that its actually working than be like my brother and have a blown headgasket :D
lol, cheers everyone seems cool on here... roads in the north of ireland are more full of potholes than they are dirty  buckled alloys all round !!
i do rag mine a bit but the car is near 2 years old and the oil is fine.. my dad was never done putting old in his old laguna rt, he says all renaults are like that??
theyre 17s, ive my 15s back on at the mo tho, and id forgotten how much fun it is to drive... Would NEVER put 17s on a small engined car again... If my 15s were the same colour as my 17s id keep them on
thanks everyone, and yeah ill clean yours anyday smoothed clio!! ;)
@ 172gal, yeah i know what u mean about the seats but mine arent too bad, my mate left the door open once when there was hail stones and it left some nice spotty water marks on my drivers seat tho grrrr !
i think northern irelands just as bad as scotland sometimes, grrrr! id just washed it before that pic was taken, gets washed 2-3 times a week and polished once a week. sad arent i???
good good, id have a 172 if it wasnt for insurance over here. I bought the car when i was 17, and one place quoted me 6k back then for insurance under my dads name! i think not!!
Just thought id say hi, dont think ive ever been on this forum before so thought it was about time i signed up ;) Im from Northern ireland, got a wee 2002 clio.
Seems like everyone on here has got a 172!!
