Have been back again today and told them to put a new clutch in when it goes back together, seems foolish to put the old one back in as i'm unsure how old it is - i've certainly not replaced it myself, plus you wouldn't do an oil change and put the old oil filter back on. So yeah, the credit...
Good stuff, glad to see the 182_steve PMS mod is starting to take off
Just kidding, as I said I think i'll put my sound deadening back in too when I get the car back, thought about it, but never did........... also, man points for buying that rubber band ball, plenty of spares!
Managed to get over to the local Renault late this afternoon to hopefully have a look at my car - it's ok chatting on the phone about it, but I wanted to see it for myself! Luckily, I caught the workshop guys just as they were packing up for the day and had finished the other car jobs so two of...
Exactly, in a way it's the best result for me if this had to happen, it's already at the garage on the ramp and in bits, gearbox can go straight to them and be fitted and I don't have to transport it to them myself and get rid of a pallet etc!
Yes mate, been over there today and had a good...
So I've just received a phone call I wasn't expecting, right at the end of business hours (thought no news today was good news!)....... they've stripped the car down to confirm the leak and fit the new seal etc but while doing so, apparently my gearbox has all metal filings everywhere in it and...
Thankyou! To be honest, to the untrained eye it looks just like yours..... have a look at my project thread for some more ideas of little upgrades you can do
Great looking car this, nice and original with some subtle upgrades - the best way! What a bargain with the price and that was 3 years ago!!
For me personally, the Whiteline is a great bit of kit for the money, noticed a big difference when I had mine fitted. Currently also have brand new Cup...
Now i've done a few miles in the car with the PMS fitted, I find it still rattles a bit under harder acceleration and 'spirited' driving, but when on idle and just driving around normally at lower speeds, mine doesn't vibrate at all anymore...... well worth trying!
Good man! Now you just need to find an elastic band, the most expensive mod of all, and you're sorted!
Gaiters are so cheap, well worth getting another
I'm back in the same white '67' plate Clio I had last Thursday as a courtesy car today as my Clio is back in the local Renault again having the gearbox oil leak sorted, should be getting a new end cover and seal put on etc to get rid of the leak - quite pleased that after another week, there was...
Was all worth it in the end, but what a mission mate......... Mick must have been knackered that late after being at work all day!!
Car looks great tho, a big decrease in the rubbing is a win!
Sorry to see this but can totally understand those reasons why, the E46 M3 is a brilliant car, my Dad had one............ best of luck with the sale, with the condition and mods etc, should be a quick one!
You could just leave it as it is? Jokes! As above, Recaro's for an oem+ feel, you could also use harnesses with them if you want to go down that route - if you really have to strip it, just the rear seats only with a full length KTec or similar rear carpet as Jon said, bit of weigh...
Looks a great little project this, nice list of parts coming through already........ how annoying is that about the belts when you arrived for viewing tho!! Do you think they WERE done?
Great project this on what is already a very nice car..... will be very interested in how it unfolds as work progresses
So much originality there that needs to be kept, interior, original plates bla bla but I'm agreed that lowered with a nice set of OZ's or Turini's with possibly a small...
Just come in from giving the car a good bath again and now it looks decent again with all the salt and crap washed off it
I'm still rocking a bit of an arch gap on the front. Unless i'm going crazy, i'm sure it's a bit higher than it was despite having the same springs put back on...
Really does look stunning there mate, top work  As a side issue, can really see the difference with the new phone camera too, those photos honestly look like you took them with a digital camera like mine, not a phone!!
This!
I have mentioned before to Ollie that plain front and...
The filler neck, blimey, that takes me back to the old Fiesta RS Turbo days, my old H reg Fiesta turbo was no exception and had minor bubbling starting to appear around the filler cap when I sold it - the much improved Mk3.5 had the fuel filler flap!!! I too have seen Clio's with the bonnet...
Thanks for the comments chaps, will be giving the car another good clean tomorrow morning all being well so will take some more photos of how it's sitting then as it will have had a couple of days to settle and done a few miles etc.
Cheers mate
Thanks bud, have a look at the RPD link I...
