Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Do what You feel best with if you look back through this thread You will see I have shared some views from myself and a Renault service and sales manager. I would never let a clio go past 70k on a cambelt mate.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Ok Sorry. From what I have been told. Your cambelt will certainly not snap before 75k If You stick to the correct service schedule e.g 18k each service. However if You have driven the car very hard the cambelt could snap at 80k or maybe 90k. So i would say the...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Walking away with chin down after this tbh. That Must mean you have all won well done guys btw You can get a full cambelt change from mr clutch fixed price Think it is around £170
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
I would just like to state again I would be very grateful if this could stay on topic. And not go into a ego based bullying session on me. Just to remind everyone this is a factual thread based on the cambelt replacement schedule. 75k should be the maximum. But...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Ok tbh I Have bought several cars off from the olympian group and there cambelt change cost was only 75 quid because if you have the know how and the correct timing tools it is no more than 1 hour 30 mins work.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
That photo to me does not mean anything Looks like the inside of a car engine. But I don`t know what it is meant to look like. looks fine to me. I hope to never have too see the inside of an engine in my lifetime lol.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
I am stating the opinion of a well regarded renault service and sales manager. who has worked for Renault for 20 years. R.e the poorly maintained issue All I can say is that in his experience he has never heard about a bad condition cambelt being removed from a...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
see Quote Below mate. all depends on the different use the type of car gets. And also the Maintenance schedule of the car.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
In reality that would not hurt a good modern engine. But I am sure you will believe the myth that it will. Like the cambelt age issue.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
No Not at all But a Cambelt change Has a very high cost to it. And they are all good garages that do the job but It needs to be done if there is any doubt on the history of the car. :)
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
if I worked at Renault I would be more than willing to give you a new engine of your choice. I know the truth that it is all related to mileage and not year. also depends on the model in question.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Yes. A Poorly maintained car will show this. A well maintained car won`t. My mate has been a regional manager for Renault for years he has seen it all. he says that if a clio is maintained well and the cambelt is changed by 75k there is no worry`s with...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
exactly mate that is a higher mileage than reccomended belts should be changed by 75k even if that comes in 1 year or 20.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Yes very True Rubber also gets harder with age. and This belt is in a very contained Environment not exposed to the normal issues rubber is.

Love the stereo change :) Car is Amazing In My opinion it would look better without the side skirts and lowered a bit. But respect for having a beautiful car :)
