My dad's bought my mum a new pc as well as a new boxed XP and boxed Office 2007.
My mum heavily uses her email (Outlook 2007) for work so she's got thousands of mails and multiple email accounts. What's the best way to transfer all this data without losing anything or having to piss around...
I use an AMD X2 64 4600+ in a machine I built last May. Everything runs fast and stable, can't fault it at all. You do not need the latest and greatest for a fast stable machine!
It's all very well forking out for the Core2Duo but would the average user actually notice any difference...
If some guy in his lounge can do this why isn't this technology already on sale? Imagine this technology with the likes of COD4 and being able to actually pop your head around a wall!
Running Linux in VM would defeat the object of using Linux imo and running Windows in VM on Linux there's no 3D support for games so it's a pointless exercise.
Mells I tried DL a while back, was ok but preferred Ubuntu. It's not that I don't like or can't get on with Linux. I used it for 2 years! It's purely the lack of support for the games I want to play. Having the Wine/Cedega devs dictate to me what I can/cannot play is just crap. With Cedega even...
Tuneup Utilities has a rescue centre where you can undo any changes it's made. If you're using the 2008 version then the option is at the top next to update wizard. That's if it will allow you to open it. Perhaps try safe mode?
Which version of Windows do you have? My XP Pro without any SP's...
Tuneup Utilities is good for cleaning up crap and includes defrag utils.
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ They offer a trial.
Bitdefender Antivirus 2008 is good for antivirus, spyware and the like. Again they offer a 30 day trial.

If you decide you...
Are you that far behind reading forum posts? lol
Still using XP now with no problems! I spend loads of time on COD4 so switching back was definitely worth it.
Lack of power shouldn't give you blue screens. You'd just see random restarts and the like.
Have you tried a fresh Vista install? Next thing I'd look at would be your memory i.e. trying another stick.
It's an OS so you don't uninstall it. You format the drive or partition. If you've been dual booting then you'll probably need the Windows disc in order to sort out the booting.
Nice pics :)
I have the same problem with my new Fuji S5700. I can take stunning supermacro shots but try and take a normal indoor shot and it's shockingly bad.
Here are my supermacro shots:
These are thumbnails, so click to enlarge.
and these next 3 were through glass!
Which Nvidia 8800?
Which Nvidia 8800 gives the best value for money? Looking to buy one after xmas probably, don't really want to spend over the £200 mark but it all depends on the answer to my question.
I believe all updates do now? I had problems authenticating my XP when I reinstalled it and it wouldn't let me have any updates, not even the critical security ones.
Think I'll wait for the final SP3 release.
Once you install the British dictionary you then need to select it.
In the bit where you type a post on here, right click, choose languages and select british english
I have a SATA Data, MOLEX Power and SATA Power. I use the SATA Data obviously and a separate cable for the SATA power.
How would a SATA Data+Power work? The motherboard surely wouldn't be able to power a drive?
You don't need to do the above.
Just copy the IMG code from photobucket which is displayed underneath the picture and paste it straight into your pm or post.
I went from a 9 fan super tower down to a 2 fan MATX. Temps are the same and it's a hell of a lot quieter. What I'm trying to say is that more fans doesn't always equal cooler temperatures.
