Just an update, Will be picking the 197 up tomorrow, dealer called and said car will be back from the body shop tomorrow morning with the newly fitted cup spoiler !, Feels wierd that my lovely 182 will be gone tomorrow sometime, Anyway pics to follow tomorrow of my 197 at some point
i agree with you totally but for me i wasnt after performance it was just added sound, so i couldnt be bothered to go round the whole caf / protection around the filter
tbh i've had it on 3 yrs and i wasnt worried about heat, didnt do it for performance i did it for sound really, i've grown up now though lol and come tomorrow when i pick my 197 up i'll be sticking to the standard induction but replace the filter with an itg panel filter
Simple to fit, simple to clean..
Got one on my 182 - - sounds the absolute nuts past 4k
I have nothing shielding it and there is no difference performance wise going from standard filter to this.
I agree that its a pain but to be fair if it wasnt for TC i feel that a lot of inexperienced drivers would of had there car smashed up by now,
At the end of the day its a safety device and i bet it has saved people on here more than once.
" The car also has a side exit exhaust and a front mount intercooler which has been fitted but not plumbed in yet "
Hows that work then pmsl, Boost leak FTL
Yeah i am mate totally, GF hasn't seen the car yet and is already dreading the rear spoiler lol, You know they'll be hating when i roll to CS meets with the baby seat in lol, Think i'll bring the bubby on a few outings too if the gf lets me
I just hope they spray the spoiler on Tuesday and fit it, Booked Wednesday day off from work so will be a pain if i have to wait until Thursday for the car.... May ring the dealer on Tuesday 1st thing and get them to push for it to be done
Well to me it sounded like we was splitting but to her it was a break ? It's all sorted now though and finally going our way... Life will never be the same pmsl
aux belt wasnt even due, car was 2 years old with 16k on the clock, According to Renault UK at the time when my aux belt went and blew the engine it was the 1st 182 to shed its belt, the reason it took 6 weeks to fit new engine was they said my engine had to be sent to Renault Sport in France...
My engine went bang and renault replaced it no question as it was within warranty, It took 6 weeks for engine to arrive and be fitted but was still done
Yeah i wasnt complaing when he told me lol, By the time they put their mark up on it i'd say they'll put it up in the region of £6k on the forecourt.... Good luck to them i'll say
Part exed my 04 182 this week for a 197 - didnt have a clue how much the 182 was worth but luckily they offered me £5,300... I'd say i got a good price for it being a stealer
ok cool, Filter above i wouldnt trust as unheard of, Always best to go with something you know/trust as piece of mind imo, Imagine if the filter was a load of boll*cks and sucked crap into the inlet / cylinders.... Head ache FTL

I find Admiral spot on, been with them since buying my 182 3 years ago, Just about to change cars on Wednesday and the annual cost has shot down a few pennies due to the 197 being in a lower class
