I have a cat bypass pipe and have tried the disconnect route..no joy and i've tried the remove the lambda route and still no joy, the light is still on.
Right my idea is to put a resistor in line with the second lambda sensor based on:
the lambda sensor gives a voltage out (0.2 - 1volt). the...
Depends on what you use the car for.....everyday use copy a 172 cup like spare wheel, or go the whole hog seats,a/c, cd changer, plastic trim, in fact anything that isn't used to drive it.
How much you trying to lose? the cup is only 40 kgs lighter than a FF 172
thanks for that guys, but does anyone know if i can fit a lesser model's uprated springs and shocks (spax for example) to my 172 ( as i can't seem to get a kit for a 172!)
On another post they said they were about £80
An entire coil over kit will only cost 400 so i don't wanna spend mor than about 75 on a pair.
any ideas or views are welcome
Is there any difference between 172 rear shocks and other models, cos i can't afford coil-overs, it already has Spax springs on it and my rear shocks need replacing ASAP(1 has just dumped it's oil!) and i can't find any listings for the 172 but loads for other models.
Please help as it likes...
Did you tape up the probe or just the body/loom to hold it in place? What about crap off the road getting on it? do you happen to remember what size bolt is was please?

GT_GAZ....what did you do with yours to get it to do that?
i've also found out that the second o2 sensor is looking for less o2 after the cat, so i'm not quite sure if the sensor is taken out how that is going to work, unless the computer is just looking for a difference between the two...
I have a 172 cup with a full s/s exhaust and a bypass pipe. i bought the car like it about 3 months ago and the emissions light has just come on.
Now i understand what it is for but how do i get it to turn off?
I've done a search and so far i have come up with:
1. disconnect 2nd lambda and...
Mine has just started to do the exact same thing but on left hand corners if they are bumpy and my right rear shock is leaking oil a bit. just for your info. looks like that could be the problem!
Wouldn't like to say but it's a bit of a coincidence that the brake pads are really near the abs sensors and the abs sensors are also used for traction control.
But lemonnobby1 that wouldn't cause the SERV light to come on.
Why?
What exactly is it doing badly/ not doing?
Saying remove and bin doesn't help me in answering the question, what will i gain/lose from removing it?
Thanks
I'm upgrading to a performance panel filter, and cold air feeds, should i keep it or not?
I have already a full s/s decat custom system fitted, so induction noise is nothing i will notice!
Just trying to gauge if removing it will affect performance or not
All i wanna know is is it worth removing?
I've read that it restricts the airflow between idle and 4500rpm to increase torque,is this right?
Will i gain anything by taking it out?
