RM172, if you look again in the handbook, ELF ULTIMATE 5w40 is recommended for the 172 not the 5w30, the 5w30 is for all petrol engines, LPG and multi-valve only.
The handbook says 5w40 so I am going to get that but I couldnt see that grade in Halfords.

I went to get some oil today ready for the oil and filter change I am planning on carrying out shortly. I was going to get 5w40 synthetic oil but...

I can remember watching a video of Tiff Needell driving one and he could not count fast enough because the car was accelerating too fast ! 0-60 in some 3.2secs, faster than a lot of bikes ! Seeing him break the world endurance speed record on that oval track was awesome too, he was soooo close...

It doesnt have air con, passenger seats, interior linings and most of the interior dashboard, spare wheel and it doesnt even have any lights. There must be a good weight difference but the engine mods must make the difference.
If you think about it, the weight of the cars must be so much less than the road going versions because they are totally stripped out arent they ? Also, I am sure I read a post on here that stated all of the mods that are made to the series engines so that combined with the less weight means it...
My mistake, went home last night and checked and the chassis number is on a sticker on the back page of my service booklet.
With regards to all the other information that needs to be sent off, did you just take photocopies and send them off as I imagine you would not send the originals ?

Yep, I got that book then, dont believe I have the chassis number on the back in the form of a sticker tho. I have it on my invoice for the car from the dealer in Holland.
Right, I am going to ask a really stupid question but what the fook does the service book look like ? I am sure I do not have the chassis number on the last page !
CONFUSION !
Right, I better send off my information to Renault then. I still do not have a dealer stamp but the importers said that if I send my service book to them then they would get it stamped. I do have a stamp on my COC form but there is not chassis number on the back of my service book.

C, it is not mine, I was putting the pics up there for GarethCamp a.k.a. Gaz2130, he knows all about it so I am sure he will post the details if you ask him.
Hope this helps,
