When I was 20 Renault 5gtt's had 60-80k on them and around the £3000 mark.. A friend sold his for £800 with 70k and by today's standards would be a minter.. They've floated around the 1500-3000 mark for the last 10 years and it's only now that they have gone over 5 for good ones, higher for...
They should move freely along the channels, wire brush them as the corrosion sets in and jams them.. I had a set of normal pads get stuck and burn out the discs. If they rattle around like mad there is a chance your carriers are worn, but it's slim..
If the pad has a rubber pad on the back...
We got shiit service once in a restaurant and at 9pm only ordered a garlic bread and desert..

I wouldn't do one for money, it takes long enough just to get to the belts.. I did mine and a friend needed his doing, so I got the tools.. I party did it to save the money, the other part was listening to every cry about how no one else on earth apart from 4 specialists can do them.. I like a...
I think it says lock the cams/crank, spin the belt with the pulleys loose to equalise tension and then lock the pulleys, tighten up the pulleys, remove the tools, turn the engine a few times and refit the locking tools to check it's all in time..
It sounds sooooo easy, but doesn't happen...
When I was younger a guy I knew (rich kid) would do stuff like key cars, baseball bat them..
That wasn't the bit he enjoyed or the reason he did it.. The point was the owner would have the car repaired and when it was he would go back and do it again..
Fix it at your own peril, chances are...
Tidy up the minimum and sell it on making it someone else's problem..
Spend more buying a better well sorted car and you'll save money in the long run.. Cheap clios ain't cheap..

I've done my first 2 a few weeks ago and getting the horse shoe to line up first time is about as easy and fingerbanging the queen.
First go took about 1 million goes as I was...
They don't like coming out when old and by then you just wish you had a new one..
They're cheap, so either buy one first, or check the stock at the local motorfactors before you start..
Yep, just jog on the plugs at service time...
Years ago I would keep more spares, replace working parts with new and keep the old..
Now I keep my money and let Renault store the parts until i need them..
I've never known an aftermarket lead out perform a genuine standard lead on any car..
Mothers Clio182 has never had a new lead since she got it new..
Perhaps these are different colour, but what's wrong with black? It goes with everything.
I normally take hubs off in pairs and run them down the local garage.. £25 later and I'm winning..
The rear discs come or can come with bearings in, so I often don't waste my time and just order up a set of them..
I'd happily drive a low/mid boost turbo converted 182 with little for than a zorst, filter, upgraded pads..
I've been considering buying a charged Clio and downgrading all the bolts ons because it's not essential.
