Injectors.
it's almost always injectors.
next time it does it, pop the bonnet and unplug them one by one.
If it gets worse, plug it back in and move on to the next one.
If it stays the same, that's the dodgy one.
What's ironic, is mine actually was diesel on the roundabout.
But to make it worse, in the space of 4 weeks, there were 5 crashes there (including mine) ALL clios of varying guises (172, mk2 1.6, mk3 etc)
I have absolutely no idea how you managed that then as even without bolting it in, it won't slot in properly unless to tool is bent.
I've only ever seen it done once, and that was by a garage using tippex.
They diagnosed an ECU issue as timing being out, so reset it with the exhaust cam at 180'

Have pm'd you to resolve it.
Yea thats fine.
Straight fit for a 182 manifold / 172 back end.
Just needs bolts and possibly the wire gasket at the front (which i have) depending on the condition of yours.
Actually used a 172/182 decat link pipe as a template for it
I scrapped a 172 shell just before xmas.
The scrap yard offered me
£0 if they collect a scrap car.
£10 if I deliver a scrap car.
a £50+ VAT fee to collect a scrap shell.
My father in law just got an 'Amiko' box (I'd never heard of them either)
Think he paid £50 for it and gets a box load of sky channels (sports / movies and all the regular freesat stuff)
He's over the moon with it as he was previously paying over £100 a month for sky (3 room multiroom with a HD+...
