Good to see you Graham, saw your first timed run and the clio looked really strong, that was about it as i was chasing the little man around most of the time!!!!
That white mini belongs to the Dews chairman and engine builder Steve Harris. Its running an 8 port engine that he has built for a...
Good read Graham, and seeing and hearing the car in the flesh, it's a nice piece of kit.
I don't know if remember me I have bumped into you at a few events and had a chat, I run a blue ITB'd clio cup in the DEWS class.
Looking forward to this year, my first event is the April wiscombe event...
I fitted bodies to my cup in 2010 and since then I had cams a couple of years later and a worked head fitted last year all mapped/fitted by Dan (SJM).
As said ITB's on their own wont make much of difference if you think they will you will be disappointed. Married up to the cams / head/...
Is this the Bristol motor club championship? I was interested but the mods I've got mean my car isn't eligible to score points. LLandow is a great sprint
For sprinting hillclimbing where the car is used for only a short periods I have always stuck to a decent 5W40. Gulf competition can usually be found around for good value I generally use that or Fuchs etc if it is on offer. When I had my engine stripped down after it died ( due to shoddy...
Try Ramair mate I used to have one of those filters many moons ago on my ITB's and I'm certain its was a Ramair filter ( You can see the clips on some of their products on their website).
I will have a hunt about i may still have that baseplate somewhere as i think I kept it as a template.
For...
Im getting very good results from a similar set-up.
Stock bottom end except ARP's, KTEC bodies, Gen90, 421's, ported head with supertec's and a lightened flywheel.
Individually the mods were not too significant but tied together and some decent mapping makes her a flier now!!!
FairPlay looked epic fun Tony !!
Would of loved to have popped up to combe this weekend and have a gander, but I'm destroying my body on a Stag do :tired:!!
Yep that was me parked with all the mini's. In my second season only started doing it for a bit of fun and a cheap way into motorsport, but it's hugely addictive!!!
Didn't know about the single seater crash, I must admit those boy's have some ball's or a screw loose :D
Could of been Hannah, It wasn't me up there. I'm running a cup with bodies and I'm usually at Wiscombe or sometimes Gurston. Im at Wiscombe a week Sunday in fact.
Nice video Mark, interesting viewing the car from behind it was a fun filled few laps and cheers for the nice comments all!!!! The ST and cup were quite evenly matched although Mark was two up and I was all alone in the cup.
As for the cup Ive had it for 8 yrs now ( I feel old!! :dapprove: )...
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
Was good to see the 'old girl' yesterday mate sounded awesome.
We will have to get them all together for a good blow out like Jon mentioned !!!
I will drop the cup round for a full detail now Jon my Albanian friend!!! ;)
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
That would be good mate!!
Yep I had that update a long while back now that got rid of all the lights on the dash and enabled all the trip functions. When I had it mapped in march this year after the cams I had the latest firmware update...
Bought my cup in 2006 on 24k. Now on 78k and it has ran bodies for the last 4 years.
I treated the old girl to some ARP bolts and 421 cams this year and she still seems to be as strong as ever.
These lumps are really solid when looked after.
Yes Andy really enjoying it at the moment. The Trophy would be well suited to it!! ;)
The best time I have managed there was 48.1 last year at my first event but this time round I only managed a 49.1.
I was pretty certain I was on for a PB this time out on that run, but I clipped the bank...
