Just a quick point when you undue the 2 nuts, hold the top one in position and screw the lower one on to seperate the nuts, this way you are less likely to damage the loctite bond as you are screwing it on, so are tightening the stud.
Regards Russ............
That is one nice car, good to see a few are being kept OE and it looks like showroom condition, don't forget to drive it though.
Regards Russ...........
I have one of the Prima ones fitted on the 172 Cup, you can have a look if you want on Sat when I collect the Cat and see if it's not to solid for what you want, they are worth every penny but you may get a little vibration/drumming from it as they are a Group N type rubber. If you run the...
I was told a while back that some new ECU's maps cut the fuel/ign when both accel/brake are seen under certain conditions for obvious reasons but don't know if that's true, it is difficult on mine with FBW throttle, will be glad when it's gone.
Regards Russ..........
Hello all' Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
I'm wondering if anyone uses a wideband 02 Lamda in their pre cat exhaust, as I'm looking at fitting one using the Innovate LM2 A/F meter and OBD11 combined, it's a good piece of kit and seems a must if your spending big money on your engine ie...
Yes it is good being old sometimes, used to see Tom hammond run one of these in the CCC sprint series in the 90's, he used to get FTD at Curborough on the 2 lapper and cross the finish line at 120+.
Regards Russ...........
Hello Colin,
At least you went, but looking at that I'm glad I wimped out and watched Rugby, it looked lethal as it always is in those conditions, love the Bus steering wheel lol, now you know what it's like for me.
Regards Russ.....
Well done Colin, I keep saying to Thorpey still life in the old 5, sorry I couldn't get across spectate good to see you had a good day with the weather, hope to see you next season in what ever you run, did Dave run in the other Cup as I noticed he ran in his BM at Anglesey last time out.Noticed...
^^ Ah I see, I'll stay with rd going don't want the car undriveable on the rd, got all the bits ready to go on just waiting for funds for the diff, engine will have to wait untill next winter, I assume you'll be getting a trailer then. I'll see you at Anglesey or 3 Sisters.
Regards Russ............
I'd love to run at Harewood next year! but do you mean in your car in mod prods or can you still run in 1B with the above, you'll have to PM me.
Regards Russ.......
Have to agree with Phil, fantastic piece of kit and would love to fit these on the car but spherical bearings are not alowed in rd going class, link these with their bottom arms and rear beam kit and you've got all you need for a well sorted track car and possibly add a few strengthening welds...
I,ll be running the Bilstein B14's with whiteline rear ARB, full Powerflex bushes and standard top mounts, if your running in class SB or 1B then don't fit any kind of solid top mount as the class for rd cars does'nt alow them, but this does depend on your local championship regs etc.
Regards...
Good luck Sunday Colin, hope the weather holds, I would have come across but I'm working Sat and Sunday, under 70s I reckon:race:
regards Russ..........
Just wondering if they are a progressive spring which means they have to be instaled in the correct orientation, I've been looking at the instructuctions that cam with my B14's and they show the adjustor at the top, and the spring can only locate one way, wider coil spacing at the top/closer at...
Just measured my ARB and it's 956mm from outside to outside, is it the same on both sides? the angle measures 50x35mm, mine was from the Gb and only has 2 holes.
Regards Russ.......
I'm running Toyos T1R's at the moment on the Cup but will be changing to Yoko ADO8's for the 15" wheels when I get them next season, I think it's a case of you may need to try a few as everyone has a different view on what works on their car, similar thing to camber and suspension set up, just...
Nice one Colin, wish I could have come across to spectate mate, well done on the win you'll fly next week at 3 Sisters should see you there, vid looks good. F**k me 9-5 MPG you sure you've not got ITB's hidden ;)
Cheers for linking it Firas, it's just one well put together video as well ! I don't think you could have put the cameras in a better position, would love a passenger ride in it.
Regards Russ...............
I don't know how to link the video in but this must be the ultimate Hillclimb car of all time, I'll let the video do the talking.
type in Georg Plasa-BMW134 Judd-Falperra/Portgal 2011 into YouTube,
Hope someone can link it unless it's already been seen.
Regards Russ.............
Yes just make sure all the trim is fitted, you can remove carpets but I'd leave it all in place for the time being.Coming along nicely.
Don't tell Colin anything he's already stolen all my ideas, and for your first event you may need to add weight possibly 25 kg's of lead in each footwell...
Hello Colin forgot about your project thread, you know my thoughts on the above, I still reckon untill your times got slower the settings were ok, thats why I'm going for the B14's nothing to adjust once set up, still as stated you got out to do a final run I'd have gone home , you probably did...
Nice car and that steering wheel does look good, good to see you at Aintree, didn't realise you were in the Cup you should have driven down the paddock so we could have a look at the competiion, looks like another wolf in sheeps clothing to contend with;), hope to see you running in the near...
Just read this in the Motorsport News,
The Veyron is to be driven by Bugatti's tesy driver and is looking to try and get the current record for Specialist Production Cars over 2 litres, current record is 43-27 set all the way back in 1997 by a Westfield SEiGHT, should be good to see the car...
