ENGINE OILS
Motul
300V 5w-30, 5w-40, 10w-40...
For best protection use 5w-40 synthetic (Silkolene PRO S 5w-40 or Motul 300V 5w-40) in the engine and fully synthetic 75w-90 in the gearbox (Silkolene Syn 5 75w-90 or Motul Gear 300 75w-90).
These products are proper fully synthetics (pao/ester)

Actually, this time of year 5w-40 is better for the engine. Less wear on cold start.
Don't use 15w-50 unless the car is very heavily modded and running higher oil temps.

It depends on the quality. If they have identical composition then there will be no difference.
5w flows more quickly when you turn the key in any temperature and therefore less engine wear. 90% of wear occurs on cold start.

Why do oils lose viscosity with use?
Viscosity Index Improvers.
