Alright folks [emoji5] looking for a bit of advice. When checking my car earlier, noticed the boot on my (passenger side) tie rod was split (see pic). Only apparent on a full right lock, anyone know if you can change JUST the boot?? or is it a complete jobby? Many thanks!

I know exactly the feeling you mean, the sunset beer after a solid day of cleaning up is bliss! :beers: and youre right, I imagine id improve over time, any thoughts on a paint depth guage?? necessary or not?
it sounds like you really went to town! :openmouth: fortunately I have put those kind of hours into cleaning already, so really I suppose im after stripping the existing wax etc off, repolishing, sealing and waxing using the DA to achieve a better standard than my current attempts. think im...
that seems to be a similar message from yous both! considering I spend 5/6 hours on a sunday going mad with the wax and so on, maybe its a good investment! even if it only gets used once, itll probably still be put to good use on other jobs now and again. me and my brother both have M2PH2s with...
hey all, I like to make my car look shiny  but with the sunshine being out more, I can see minor swirls, but lots of them, in my bonnet a lot more and its causing me a bit of heartache haha. the question being, is it worth investing in a (budget?) machine polisher (80-120 quid) or just...
ouch! surely being waxed up like it is should prevent/protect from that kind of damage!? any tips/products/methods for avoiding the marking?? theres only one place for me to park at work and its right under a tree with numerous crows nests in, so really I need solution other than... park...
Hoping this is the relevant place. Can't do photos as am at work currently but... I'm suffering with bird- crap marks on my bonnet! The bonnet gets waxed often using 'mer' wax, but when a bird craps on it, I wash it off the same day and it leaves a mark still visible (in direct sunlight)! I have...
Alright so I'm a fully paid up member now feel it's time to just check in! This weekend I threw some sportlines (not without a bit of hassle) on my 182 that I've owned for abo ut 5 months.
No big modification plans, just want a reconditioned steering wheel, refurbed alloys and a few carpark...
After a bit of a messy fitting of new springs yesterday, today I replenished my gearbox oil Ordered some decent millers synth, but to keep the car going to and from work until that arrives, stuck in halfords own.
It's an independent specialist in West Sussex area, if the work done is good I'll post a name for reccomendation :) I would agree with you on getting them all done at once, though they had only been done around 8k ago at a main dealer so I won't be bothering this time! History is full Renault...
have re-booked to a place about 5 miles away from me, to the tune of a fair few more pounds for the convenience. they have offered to pick it up for an extra 35 quid and all so, thats me happy(ish). got to blag lifts to work for the next 3 days though!
tah for all advice, wouldve just taken a...
I could very happily do it myself, but given the current weather conditions I just can't get a gaurunteed good day to do it.
I think it's never been driven with any 'enthusiasm' until I got my hands on the car, and it's either simply shifted and/or damaged the tensioner.
Thanks, I'll seek out a Renault specialist, preferably not a main dealer though haha
If people have ideas to ease the risk temporarily that would be great, as it's a tensioner, it will just keep wearing until it punches right through. Fortunately I was nosing around the air con clutch and...
So it's as high risk as I suspected. I'll track down somewhere very local to do the job as soon as I possibly can. In the mean time its still going to need to do the 2miles to/from work, I'll just have to be really really gentle with it for the next couple of days.
Thanks very much for your...
hi all,
Bought myself a 182 (full fat) just over a month ago. Though I have now noticed the aux belt is rubbing on the tensioner to the point that some thread in the belt is visible. I have booked it in to get changed in about 2 weeks time, but the garage is over a 2hr drive away as it is a...
Hi guys.
Going to look at a 2001 172 on about 80k on Saturday. (Only some service history), do you all have any advice on what to look out for on a172 for a first time buyer like myself?
I can see a few older threads, but they're nearly 9 years old, could do with more up to date info :)
Many...
