Figured it out. Brute force. Now smuthered in Deox Gel.

172 Cup Top Radiator Brackets - pic request.

How do you get the rubbers out? I though there would be a slot to slide them in, but unless it's rust fooling me there doesn't seem to be? Or brute force oust them out?

172 Cup Top Radiator Brackets - pic request.

Fair play, 12 years on and here we are. Just changing the radiator on my 172 Cup and wondered if brackets were available to buy as mine are a bit grubby. Turns out you can't buy them new anymore. And for completeness and hopefully helpful to someone in the future These are the non aircon...

Hunting rattles and I'm snooping around the boot area. The boot latch. Is it adjustable, I seem to recall reading that they could be adjusted but I can't see how? @Brigsy I think it's your thread I read where you adjusted the boot latch?

That's not the worst case scenario, thankfully. Wonder if it was not torqued correctly.

Now every Clio I've owned has had floppy inner TRE's and the the outer TRE's aren't usually far behind. Neither aren expensive so I did my research and bought some fresh ones. The ones on there weren't that bad to be honest and at one point I did consider sending the back, getting a refund and...

Flat side to bearing/disc and tapered side to car. It's not immediately obvious which side is tapered until you hold it in your hand. Even that above image, not really sure what side that even is! 😂

To finish of the rear refresh I thought it rude not to add some new rear discs and pads. Sure we've all seen what old discs and pads look like but for the sake of documenting it: Before After Looked like one bearing was on it's last legs as this rubber (at one time was rubber maybe?) seal...

    172 Cup OEM+

Took just over a week. They had to get it done quick as they had bigger projects to smash out. I had originally planned to refresh a second beam and supply that built up with rear brakes and bushes etc. But the second had beam I'd bought had a rust hole in it which I wasn't aware of until the...

Dropped the car off to a local place for removing the rear beam, tank and exhaust etc and having any surface rust treated with dinitrol RC900 and undersealed with dinitrol 4941 and lastly front wheelwells treated with dinitrol 4010 and a linolin based coating. Also the rear beam was given a lick...

Great question. I've tried getting them in position for a while, but the passenger side keeps touching the drivers wiper when it comes to rest. The only way to get them not to touch is to raise the passenger wiper. In trying to sort this out (again) today, I noticed the spline on the passenger...

    Schwartz olive Clio 182

WOW. Fairplay, loving that. When I saw the 2118 first, I thought 'they need to be a lighter colour'. Looks absolutely class now though.

    Titanium MrBlonde

I relocated a smaller battery in the boot and in all honesty, not worth the hassle. Bit of a ball ache to fit imho, running a cable though the bulkhead and under carpet, fitting a whopping fuse in line etc. That said, the car was doing my head in at the time! The battery died after not using it...

With others and I advise against it. Relocation is probably the better option.

Oh and because I'm a total tart I ordered a new number plate for the Clio. Ignore the bits under the car, currently making room in the garage for my missus Christmas present, a tumble dryer. 😂

    172 Cup OEM+

Doing some bits over the Christmas break. Rusty bumper brackets, worst grinder back, deox c gel and Hydrate 80 before throwing some paint on it. Current situation. Looking to build up a second rear beam to fit. I'm assuming a 182 beam does fit but has slightly more strengthening to...

BMS was for sale on FB. Quite hard to come by now. Feels OEM but a better position and not as bad at rattling as a PMS. It doesn't however have that PMS feel.

Not much happening in the Clio space at the moment. Plans are to still drop the rear beam and do a bit of undersealing and maintenance etc. I picked up a spare Turini from a nice guy from Carmarthen called Andrew. Said he was a member on here. Genuine, straight, cup offset Turini. Refurbed...

Following on from the last post. I soldered, heat shrunk and put fresh conduit around the cooked wire. I placed the wires high up out of the way and refitted the remaining heat shield which is attached to the carpet. The heatsheild was hanging on for dear life so I ended up binning it and...

After fitting the clutch I had an intermittent flashing stop light. Quick search on here and it was recommended I top up the brake fluid. So I did and the light went away, for a bit. When I went on the drive pictured in the last post, the stop and handbrake light were on almost constantly. I...
