Got hold of another carbon canister, the solenoid is just the small circular part on top where the connection and the tube plugs in, right? I don't have to actually change the whole unit

possibly, reading around I also hear this does tend to tick loudly and can be straight up removed, correct? but is the tick meant to increase in frequency with the engine revs?
