hmmm, funny that. i had a set of k-tec's first design topmounts and they were identical to the original compbrake ones. looks like compbrake designed these ones for k-tec again.
they look like they might have improved them a bit then. before they were just threaded to tighten them up. it now looks like they bolt together through the turret.
can't see how you are melting spigot rings tbh, i think its more than just bad ventilation. however, no fogs and oz ultraleggeras keep my brakes nice and cool.
a bright green focus rs caught my eye in new england peterborough and then i noticed that the number plate was CL10 FFS! made me smile.
anyone else seen this about?
i had k-tec's early design ones and they were terrible from my experience. they were the compbrake ones branded by k-tec i believe. but they were terrible. they rattled even on smooth roads and a very loud rattle at that.
for road use with a few track days a year i would say std renault ones are...
my car has seen cup, apex, proline and sportline springs.
the best all rounders were the sportlines by far (but i do wish they were 15mm lower)
apex looked great but gave a terrible ride quality and skittled around corners.
prolines were great handling wise but didn't really lower the car at all.
for a road car (that see's a little bit of track), std shocks, eibach sportlines and a rear arb is more than enough. really good setup from my experience.
i can't really comment on coilovers as i have never owned any, but all the cars i have been in with coilovers seem pretty firm for the road.
this is what mine sounds like.

itg pannel filter, std airbox, modified cat (no difference to sound), no silencer, miltek exhaust.
post 10 is the better video
i have had this kind of problem for a while. the car has had new shocks, springs, top mounts, ball joints, tyres, wheel alignment, and it still seems to be doing it. learning to live with it now. it keeps you on your toes!
the only thing i have noticed is that the cheap GSF balljoints that have...
i have. main reason i went for it was because the miltek centre section had collapsed, so rather than replacing the centre section i just had a straight 2.5 pipe welded onto the cat straight to the backbox. best thing about it is no leaks on the post cat join.
here is my thread on it...
im 26. had the 182 since i was 21.
i don't think the rs clio's are for younger drivers at all, although now that mk2's are more affordable i see a lot more younger drivers in them.
we will have to arrange something simelar again soon, was really good. it would have been awesome if it was sunny tho and i guess more people would have made it if it was sunny (and if they read the thread properly, kingy!)
i didn't take any pics this time. not sure if dan did or not.
really love your car mate. i like std ph1's, i think they are great looking cars but what you have done makes it look even better! spot on imo. was admiring it at fcs.
we will let you off not making this one simon, pretty good reason to be honest! has the mrs had him yet?
will see the rest of you all at rutland water at 12:30!
and to confirm this is happening TODAY! 12:30! RUTLAND WATER!
i don't know if ppl are meeting at hampton etc first, but i will...
i don't want to curse things but the weather forecast looks very poor for sunday. sorry to sound like a moaning old git but whats the plan if it rains? reschedule? some people have got a fair distance to get there.
