Taking new lithium batteries from 0-100 percent and back to 0 is actually bad for them. 40-80% is the sweet spot.

The stuff won't magically go from your iCloud to iTunes? Plug your 5s into iTunes, back it up. Unplug it. Plug iPhone 7 into iTunes then restore it from the back up you just made of the 5s.
