Finally someone who understands the concept of winter wheels! Bravo mate.
Out of interest, why did you decide not to spend £200 on a set of wheels and then another £100 spraying them in a rediculous colour? Like all the usual 'winter wheels'. Is it because it is retarded?
You are my new...
Would look so much better OEM. A guy in Wigan has wrapped his in a baby blue colour with white stripes, sh*t wheels and a massive exhaust. It is honestly one of the worst sounding cars I've ever heard so god knows what he's done to it.
I used to love the green but now think white is the best...
I still wish I had the BMW! I specced one up when I picked mine up, and even though I'd get my money back on the Mini and with discount, I still couldn't justify the price. In 2/3 years they will be an absolutely brilliant buy.
And I do miss the 182 sometimes, but I think I've moved on from...
Unlucky would be an understatement. Main point being that come the new year once all the niggles are sorted the car will be spot on and it won't have cost me a penny.
You not getting on with the GP mate? I adore them but if I buy another Mini I will 100% die at the hands of the other half.
Cheers dude. Luckily I have a van for short trips. And I missed out on the TM GB for the catch cans so I'm going to email him and get one shipped myself!
Got the car back today.
Basically the problem was coking, which if you know anything about these cars is a big problem. And from everything the have told me, the engine has basically eaten itself. A bent piston, scorched bearings...
The result being the engine has basically been rebuilt so...
Most of the IFs aren't any better than their normal cards, not for the prices they command.
Best IF I've used is Erikson (sp) for Ajax. Only about 20k too.
Mini called me today and said it's having a new cylinder head, so I'll be with the BMW for a couple more days. When I pick the Mini up I'm going to spec a 3 series up and see whats what.
Yeah they called me today to update and said I'm liable for no charge what so ever etc. And tbh they can keep it, this 320d is absolutely unbelievable.
Cylinder head off to investigate piston problems. Great.
On the plus side they've given me a fully specced up 320d courtesy car. £35,000s worth! Absolutely epic machine.
In all fairness it was stone cold when he started it. I was just going off what he said, I'm the mechanically inept he could of told me anything and I'd have to take it as truth.
What ever it is will get sorted. I don't use it all that much anyway so it isn't too much of an inconvenience.
The never buy a Mini part was sort of tongue in cheek.
If I'd have bought it off anybody else I'd agree with you, but from the way the previous owner dealt with me, the history etc etc, I've probably just got unlucky. I'd be fuming if I had no warranty. I've got documentation of previous issues...
Mini emergency have been out today as it went crazy again last night. Narrowed it down to either HPFP which he says is unlikely as 3 cylinders are running perfectly while number two is just dead, or a compression issue on cylinder 2.
Being towed in tomorrow for investigations.
