In some ways I find that appealing, but then again I think for a hot hatch the styling should make a big statement.

Im just stating it isn't a private plate. I could take any arrangement and say each letter means such a thing, it wouldn't make it a private plate. I was under the impression a plate with no date mark was private?
And at no point did I say it didn't look quite good.

I STILL can't make my mind up on the looks. One came past me on the motorway yesterday in this very colour, and it looked really tall for some reason. In the words of the mrs, 'it doesn't look very fun' which is what I've thought all along. The styling is too conservative, especially from the rear.

I'd say I get slightly better mpg in the R32 than I did in my R53. Different cars though, and doing my journeys I'd say the Mini encouraged you to give it the beans more. It is still a very uneconomical car though.

To be fair it looks that poor compared to how it did I wouldn't even compliment it as drug dealer ish. It just looks pony. A shame really because it looked cracking how he bought it.
