My 172 has been massively reliable, the only things that have gone wrong are due to my instance on taking on track and tbh the bits that broke - dog bone mount, wheel bearing and brakes, really are not expensive.
Still people think that because its french it is unreliable... yeah sure.
Well you say they are superb and another highly regarded member says the opposite, I have never been so i am yet to make up my own mind and don't want to destroy a company's reputation over hearsay.
Precisely, James proved this at Donnington this year, with only 175 bhp he drove a superb race and beat cars with more power than him, and for £1500 you can get a cracking suspension set up which I am sure will make more difference than slightly more power will.
I think i would go the same way...
Yeah those, i was going to get the rear ones but didn't in the end, I am quite tempted to get some but i am not really having any oversteer issues and the car seems pretty balanced so don't really want to increase rear end grip and inadvertently create understeer.
This thread makes for interesting reading, my point of view is that both the cams and the RS2 are not really worth it for the cost vs performance gains.
I think the RS2 would be worth it for a relatively inexpensive race car and the cams are good if you are due a belt change but other than...
Way more mid corner grip, I increased the toe out to 5 mins either side which made the turn in better, i am tempted to get it set to 10 mins either side at some point though.
I got a decent geo setup on mine and it handled so much better afterwards, I had just fitted camber bolts so the toe was all over the place previously.
As Dan says getting it stopping and handling well is the first priority with these cars.
personally i wouldn't bother with an RS tuner map or matched inlets,I don't really think they are worth the price. I would't bother with a 182 manifold either, but I would definitely get a ph1/v6 air box and put most of my money into handling and getting a good fresh set up.
So new cup shocks...
From what I understand the 'new' rules about this keep getting delayed so its a bit of grey area, the only thing is it is quite annoying when people fit HIDs to reflector lenses as quite often they have a blinding affect.
