We can't really progress any further until we receive the head back from the specialist so just collecting parts for now. Hopefully should be ready for collection next weekend sothe car can be rebuilt weekend after :approve:.
Parts all boxed up for transport:
Parts for the rebuild are...
Well the head went off to the specialist this weekend and we're adding the 1.9 cam :)
It does need a LOT of work but I've spoken to a company that I've used before who said it will be possible for between £850-1100. That's a full respray and all repairs which I think is pretty good...
Haha no worries, it was a good little convoy for a while :rasp:. Thought you must have cleaned it recently it's sparkling. I've only just finished mine and I started straight from jet washing it lol so have decided I deserve a pizza for my efforts :approve:.
Thanks! it's not exactly quiet is...
In that case your figures weren't majorly bad. The majority of the 182's at our recent dyno day made high 150's low 160's (mine made 164 ATH) admittedly with matched inlets and a map you should have maybe got a few more but that might be lost through using a different dyno. Once the 10-12%...
Thanks guys!
They were around £28-35 each can't remember exactly as they were priced seperately (intake/exhaust). So much better to clean them up.
Lmao :o.....
Crikey and I thought ours needed work lol! That's the way it's done though :)
Going to paint the inlet manifold when I get home from work tonight and then over the weekend I might give the boot a go...a few rust patches unfortunately so needs to be rubbed down and sprayed up to look presentable.
The car was bought on pistonheads but the link doesn't work as it's an old advert, bad times as there were pics of it in action which I wouldn't mind having.
Anyway, a quick update:
We've not had a huge amount of time to work on the pug in the last 2 weeks but here's what's been happening...
It's unbelievable - 2nd years no claims as I lost 5 months when I switched the insurance policy to accomodate the conversion. Paid £129 a month which I thought was fair for the car and now with an extra years ncb it's gone up £50 a month! Then in 2012 women under 26 will see a 25% increase so I...
Re: Cliosport Saturday - The Launch of a New Era - 30th July 2011
Hey grant, as the boosh said I'll sort something out for us Essex lot. I'm going to speak to Rob about any arrangments for camping and then sort out meeting the Kent lot and driving down in a convoy :)
Will keep you posted.
LOL technically it's not in the spare wheel well....just next to it.
Not been on a track yet...at least not one with bends :p I take it to drag days throughout the year which is always amusing with the sleeper thing going on .
Re: iPhone "must have" apps
Sleeptalk recorder. It's brilliant and so clear!
Makes me laugh daily. Last nights included "Hamborghini, lamborghini and a hamburger, now that's just silly".
LOL!
LOL Mace! I'll have you know I enjoy getting involved. I am interested in mechanics so makes it easier and more enjoyable to learn. Just need some help from someone with guns here and there lol!
It has been rallycrossed and photos of it in action were featured in the for sale ad. Unfortunately...
Re: Cliosport Saturday - The Launch of a New Era
Tickets bought...i should probably check how far from the location I am now :o
Looks awesome! Definitely up for camping Rob if you find anywhere local.
Everything has been split between the two of us. I'm enjoying it so far! For some reason I just want to throw money at it and get it up and running!
I've seen enough sandpaper, valves and cylinder head parts in the last few weeks than I think I ever will lol!
Welcome to my 205 GTi project thread...which I blame entirely on Daniel for posting pictures of his mint one!
The car is a ph1 205 gti 1.6 1986 model. This is our second project car atm and is taking priority over the Sierra which is more of a long term project.
The car was purchased...
Just got my renewal through and despite another years no claims it's gone up £50. £1600 :S I dread to think what my quote will be next year when the insurance for women rises :(.
Looks much better although (as much as you won't like it) I'd agree that you need to lose the stickers.
I'd definitely get rid of the elf sticker and if you like the new CS one then get the smaller version :).
Just my opinion of course.
Haha no don't worry about the dyno - it loves it !
It was due to water in the spark plug wells. Drove it around last night after a strip down and clean up and seemed fine so should be all good for the weekend :)
