Yes, if the wipers are on i.e intermittent or continuous. and you put the car in reverse the rear wiper should wipe. If it doesn't then it's likely to be the gearbox switch!

The reverse light is most likely the gearbox switch, does your rear wiper come on if you put the car into reverse (with the wipers on obv)? If not it's 9/10 times the switch.

Yep, they rebuilt TEG's first Scoob's gearbox and my dad and TEG's dad uses them too. I used to live in Dunton Green so were local to me too!

Could be a leak from the waterpump itself... take it off clean it up and put it back with either a proper gasket or some gasket sealant.

someone correct me if I'm wrong here but the only m2 ph2's with 16 inch wheels are the RS' in which case the wings are different anyway. As long as it is a non campus then mk2 ph2 non sport parts should fit - bumper, wings wise.

I get pretty much the same as you frayz, unless TheGiraffe takes it to work then it'll drop to low 30's mpg. I'll be doing 40mpg down the A13 til I hit the traffic at dagenham then it will drop. Average over a full tank is normally 38mpg. Not too sad.
