I am in the same boat.
Have probably only spent 10% of my wages on myself in the last 6 months.
Really want a house though, and I think DIY will take over my hobby of cars.
Saying that, I wrote a list of £700 quids worth of stuff I want to buy for the cup this month. Has been a while since I...
I have read a few times that people thought they were as stiff as standard cup shocks. Time will tell!
Yeah, I didn't pay a great deal for mine. I was one of the first 5 that got them at a special price. Must be the last to fit them though :o
I have Ktec coilovers ready to go on so will look to aim for 1/3 on the front then.
Are you finding them really soft then? I have had them in the attic over a year and should really know by now
I think I will stick with 195/50/15 then  I have never used T1Rs though. Some people say they wear quickly. For what they cost I will give them a punt.
What offset are those ph1 wheels Gary? Your cup does look smashing!
I take it they are 195/50/15? I see some people run 45s, but that would make the clearance even worse.
DRRolo's is probably how I would initially go arch gap wise.
But Garys looks ideal as there is still quite a bit of clearance on the splitter with the arch gap being low enough so seems ideal. You don't know how low it is do you so I can copy :o
I'l keep an eye out for 182's as I will be fitting my coilovers in Worle at the weekend hopefully.
A fist of clearance sounds a bit extreme! I think splitter removal is for the best just incase.
I don't want it silly low. Just enough so the front tyre isn't inches away from the arch! 50mm sounds about right.
The splitter could always come off. Could pop on a Skoda one if need be so if it came off it was no biggy.
I just want to make a decision so I can get new tyres for whichever set...
I seem to be pondering too much about my wheel choices and need to make a decision and just stick with it!
I have a set of lightweight 15s on the cup at the moment and I like the fact the tyres cost feck all. What I dislike is, the huge gap in the arches.
Now I have coilovers in the attic...
I don't follow it like some, but would imagine Turini's would go for up to £400 if they had good tyres, the interior probably £100 if you included the door cards as the foam bench and the dining chair front seats aren't that sought after afaik.
A 130k engine I can't see going for a great deal.
Should make more than 2k I would have thought.
Suprising all the little bits like switches etc that add up if you can be bothered to strip it completely.
Interior isn't worth alot being poverty spec unfortunately, but bumpers, wheels etc are probably the larger value items. Not sure what the...
Fair play to him.
If he was joe public without any knowledge sending the car away for repairs hoping to make a profit, obviously it would be a waste of time.
But if he has the skills, the contacts, and only has to put minimal money into it, then whats the issue.
He never mentioned anything...
All sorted through flux now.
172 cup insured with modifications for a 23 year old with 6 points and a 21 year old woman, £565 fully comp. Couldn't argue with that.
None of the aforementioned could get anywhere near what I was quoted with flux.
I ended up ringing flux back up to get a quote with my partner added to see what it was and it increased £100 on for that which I didnt want to pay so they ended up bringing my original quote down even further. So...
Have been with Adrian Flux for the past 3 years and have always found them to be very competitive with price.
I got my renewal through recently and was expecting it to go up as thats what I have read alot about on here.
But it had gone down from last year, but not by a great deal. Great I...
My insurance company told me exactly that. So easy to get caught doing say 35 in a 30 by a van.
Even 6 points for speeding will be less of a hit than just 3 for going through a red light.
There are still people in the market for expensive uneconomical cars.
Sold a high end Impreza last week for top dollar to the first viewer. And sold my 535 the other day, again to the first person to see it.
Obviously you have to have to approach the right market and advertise in the correct...
