I use a WD NAS. So can't really help on the specifics, but I use my NAS to dump media onto so it doesn't fill up my PC or phone. There aren't many downsides, except that if they corrupt themselves there's a 1/3 chance you're not getting any of that data back...that's what I heard anyway
