My first car was a 1.4 16V ...it felt nippy enough at the time then to be fair I'd never driven anything faster so I had nothing to compare it to. Having said that I now have a 1.2Tce and that feels just as quick if not quicker than my old 1.4 ...probably doesn't help at all but there you go :)
