Is the gear stick annoyingly short in the car. If so it's a different lever kit. If not then it's been done down by the gearbox by replacing a linkage part.
If your not taking part in motorsport then I'd take it easy. Fast shifting on the road is pointless and the only prize you'll receive is...
Is it a kit that uses a different lever? My B+M moves the lever down and so there is more chance of the lower part of the lever hitting things underneath. Mine makes a light knock if I go to far to the right when going to 5th. The moving the ball on the lever kits are not a good way of getting a...
My Peugeot 206 hdi had a knackered 3rd gear syncro caused by just awful drivers. Some people are just hard on boxes without knowing. A normal clean change just eludes them. When testing a 200 you need to be able to give it a decent run so that you can check that all gears engage cleanly.
Find...
Knew someone would say that but 3 different cars, endless runs and several dyno visits later and my Vbox or dyno type apps come out with the more likely results!
2 directions to count out various factors and the tests are done up to the top of 2nd so wind resistance is still relatively low...
Mine did a 170bhp average after lots of two way runs using the torque app. Dirty itg filter and a kwikfit exhaust are my awesome mods. Was somewhere between 15 and 20C outside.
Was getting around 145bhp at the wheels. I adjusted the weight for me and the amount of fuel I was carrying.
6.7 to...
You'll only undo it with a spanner if someone else has been there recently. Passenger side on mine went with out a fight. Drivers side is waiting for me to get round to removing the previous owners Allen key that has snapped off in the strut.
I fully rate the pro S. I did a track day in my diesel with oil temp gauge Sat in the 120's all day and have used that same oil to the now due service and it still sounds and runs better than it did with cooking spec oil. Peugeot DW10's sound like crap near a service so I used to half the...
Difficulty is finding out which ones are down to the box being a bad 'un and not from someone deciding it's a good idea to flat shift a road car gearbox. Some people think they aren't hard on gearboxes and clutches but I wouldn't want to be re-reincarnated as their drive chain.
It's this that...
Shame you can't drive a bog standard cup. You get more roll but it still grips and quite honestly I think it's better than my family diesel at getting down a rubbish road as it doesn't feel that hard and it's more composed when pressing on.
Standard springs are very expensive new so maybe try...
I agree. It's just a panel filter so no messing around with trying to source parts. Has done the usual thing of covering the throttle body with oil. Easy enough to clean.
It is apparently a quick one. According to the Renault garage that did most of the work on it.
Bog standard bar a quickshift and some sort of nasty foam filter. Neither of which I fitted. The filter will be going soon and I have an early gear change mechanism so the quickshift is staying until I figure it all out. I don't make fast changes at track days so it's not needed. Against the...
That will help hopefully. No idea. I only fill it up for track days and a full tank usually lasts the day. It pulls strong and clean. That's all I care about :)
It does do that Sport thing of you can watch the needle going down when it's at full chat but trickling along it doesn't seem to move...
I think you need to visit a specialist. You could be chasing this for a while. It's hard to suggest things over the internet.
Fault finding is the crappy bit of car maintenance :(
Had the same problem. I was given all sorts of excuses. I knew my car was free of the wear they claimed and when I was told an end was seized I loosened it easily with my own tools without making the marks they did when they failed.
In the end it cost me 25 quid at a place that had a guy whose...
Performance difference is negligible on track and off if both are standard. It's more about feel. The 172 has more of the old hot hatch magic about it due to being so spartan Including less of a safety net with no ABS, EBD and ESP. I've run both on track and off and that is the only difference...
Mount the top ones (engine and gearbox) all the way forward and go easy while shifting and the problems go away.
The top gearbox mount needs to be done up tighter than Renault suggest as it can move. Centre nut is fine but the smaller two are just not tight enough once a few years corrosion...
Fans don't kick in easily on these anyway. The cooling system is very capable. Although your car is low mileage it's still a decade or so old so these things can go wrong. Change one thing at a time and then drive it again. I can't really advise on what your garage can do. It all depends on what...
If your doing the dephaser it seems to be good practice to flush and change as the little bits have to go somewhere. If not it's up to you wether you think it has been used in a way to warrant it. The Clios use good quality oil so for normal road use the normal intervals are fine. Gearbox is for...
Once you get them sorted they are pretty reliable. I haven't seen a Smokey one on track or off and running gear only dies with abuse. A smooth gear change loses a fraction of a second but makes a huge difference to the longetivity of it all. It's only really the springs that aren't a fair price...
Disconnect it? I assume by your comment the Clio multi-plug is too big. I have cut the plug off if the sensor is scrap in the past and it's a big plug. Cheap six sided sockets work far better than cheap ring spanners.
