    Trying my luck

Looks like it has the cup spoiler. Grill should be black, as should the fog light surrounds i think. Instrument Panel is Orange light on black/grey background, standard, but that has blue climate control read out, there is a post on here about how to convert it, so the dash may have also been done.

    Tasty MK2 Golf VR6

Just watched that video, horrendous quality! hard to make out where it was exactly, but my mate (who's car it was) is a hell of a driver too. We used to go out and race anything and pretty much anything that looked like it wanted a go tbh!

    Tasty MK2 Golf VR6

My mate put a VR6 lump into a MK2 and it was awesome, went like fcuk. Sold that one, bought another (that had been pre-done) a MK2 with a tuned 1.8T Engine, needless to say that was rapid!

172 cup sound like diesel(sounds like a top end prob) when warm (ok when cold)

If it only does it on tick over, when warm, its your dephaser pulley. At 900rpm or so it'll do it, but when you rev it up to say 1500rpm or so, it stops ? Then its deffinatley your dephaser. Quite common unfortunatley. Driving style shouldnt affect it, its all to do with valve timing. Got...

    Radio code

If your car is an import (and some UK) then theres a sticker inside one of your manuals with a random 4 digit code, worked for me on the 172!

    ABS SERV and ESP light.

You can buy the pedal sensor from Renault for £12 or £13, its a 2 min job to change. Dont let Renault do it or they'll charge you labour. Theres a "how to" in the guides section.

    Vibration, but only on acceleration.

I had this on my 172, but sold it before I fixed it, battery tray engine mount was mine incling, is there much flex of your engine on the mounts still since you've checked them?

Semi Update (sorry for thread hi-jack). mysterious xenons!! :S a miracle maybe!?

On my old 172, my drivers side worked when it wanted. Renault diagnosed it as a Ballast, they said (probably wrongly) that water was collecting near the ballast and made it faulty ???!!!!

    Car Wash

Do you or dont you ? The roads are constantly filthy, and washing car by hand is a bit of a drag in the cold weather, so do you take it the car wash? Also have no outside tap as moved house recently and not put one up yet! In 9 years of driving i've never done it, horror stories of stones in...

how much is ur clio costing to run per year?

For 2008 Insurance -£440 Tax - £220 MOT & Servicing - £330 Fuel - Around 6k miles a year at 30mpg so 200 Gallons, avg £1 a litre (over the year) = £900. 2009, needs the cambelt service, and petrol a little cheaper at present.

    Any1 Driven a 172 & a 182

Ive owned a 172 and 182 FF. Speed wise, nothing noticable. Handling wise, the 182FF is far beter and lets you carry more speed out of a corner/roundabout, so i suppose looking at it from that angle, the 182 would be quicker..... Economy 182 is worse than 172.
