I've tried to tell him to check the plug in the fuse box and gearbox earth but hes convinced its neither, I think hes overlooking them

It's got the classic turning over but immobiliser light on problem, when mine did this it was the earth on the back of the gearbox had snapped if when I'd been messing with the starter motor

I've told him to check all earths as that was the problem with mine

Dont know but the standard 1*2 airbox is annoying to remove and I wish the battery came out without removing the ecu brace.

If I decided to change my thermostat after refilling the coolant how much coolant can I expect to loose? I would have done it at the time but not having one and needing to fill the coolant up dictated things.

I believe I did based on ac flow diagrams which all show the direction of travel to be from condenser to drier which also made sense to me so went with it...what's the worst that can happen?
