Very well said, this was always my perception of 1 series cars. You would have to modify aspects of the car to take it beyond and into the realm of proper hot hatch or M class territory.
Big thread dig. But anyone here still run the leda coilovers? I have a set and they are fantastic on the road need to dial them in more but would seeing whether they should be rebuilt as they are probably 10-15yrs old now.
Amazing transformation! Just read your build. You must be so happy with it being mint fresh with new parts. How does it drives with all the new parts installed?
Do you know whether these will fit as well?

Worried I may damaged the spline when I cut the inner race off with a grinder.
Good stuff.
I just had my hubs with drive flanges in situ vapour blasted going off your advice.
Need to pull the circlip out and have the bearings pressed out now.
Also had my rear hubs and brake calipers done as well. They will all get zinc coated next.
I think i can chime in hear speaking from experience as i own a 182 Trophy that is largely untouched bar a PMS catback with 200cell cat and an RStuner, whilst my daily is a supercharged 182 that's set up for fast road daily use. It has a standard bottom end and low boost restrictor in place for...

Running Fronts 300lb or 5.36kg/mm or 53nm/mm and Rear 400lb or 7.14kg/mm or 70nm/mm Car feels like the rear skips nervously/sharply over rough surfaces on B roads only through corners and front feels like understeer mid corner when thrown in quickly with PMS ARB set to soft , dampers...
Not sure if anyone here have heard of Forza FP3 but i'm using them on the clio and they have great initial bite after one brake cycle and perfect for road use with very little to no dust.
Good idea, i'll take the circlips out and leave bearings in when i drop off to vapour blaster, then have them pressed out and then zinc coated before i installed new OE renault bearings pressed in.
Anyone have a link to the drive flanges on eBay?
BTW good timing for me as i was just about to head out and drop my rusty old front hubs with bearings in place into a bath of DEOX-C, then drop them off to have the bearings pressed out and then zinc plated at the local shop. Change of plans and...
Pug 205gti rear calipers share the same part number. Just a random search , can anyone confirm that’s the case? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333527217652
I purchased a set recently from here that needed refurbishing sent to them to BG and were freshly powder coated, and new seals and fine tuned. Turned out a much better option than a new unknown set that had been sitting around for a while that needed a rebuild anyway.
I also have a Rotrex charger clio 182 and its an absolute joy to drive. Its essentially a big engined clio, with the power and torque to more than match the chassis. Highly recommended if you can find a kit second hand. I have not heard of many Rotrex failures on a clio tbh as most are setup on...
