My limited mechanical knowledge tells me the sensor would be the one seeing the problem, rather than causing it.
The lambda went on my old car and all that happened was a burnt a bit more fuel and had a crap idle.
Try and mount the fuse box different as said already
I would lose the rest of the lower dash and find a way to mount the stereo and heater controls, it will look better than that.

Done the same with mine today. I have tried to hide the wires in the door skin to tidy it up a bit, got to sort a mounting place for the window and mirror switches now.
Dont worry about the yellow block. That will be for the display and steering wheel controls.
The saving settings is normally because it is not getting the permanent live and needs the yellow and red wires swapping over in the loom behind the stereo
I've just fitted ph2 side stips to mine too, makes a big improvement.
I'm also after a cup spoiler, you did very well to get one as there was about 5 wanted threads for titanium spoilers on here recently
Lowering it is the way to go mate, as good as the caged looked the car will look much better lower.
I would get the springs, not like you've got old dampers that would benefit from being replaced :)
