    it's the small wire that goes from the speaker connection to the voice coil it moves with the cone so can get damaged if the speaker goes past it's x-mech/x-max

    you may have broken a tinsel lead so the amp would just see that as an open circuit so wont go into protect

    you might have shoved a higher signal into the amp and it has tried to amplify it but just clipped it's tits off. did the amp go into protection? i think the sub size is measured on the screw diameter

    can you push the cone in center?? if it makes a scratching sound then it's fuber' was it the gain you was messing with or the x-over?

    the 4x50w coming out of hu is going to be about 4 x 18wRMS that amp is probably only about 200wRMS but they will both run at that power

    nah the alpine stuff is alright just few things make the jl that bit better i'd love to say 1000/1 but i'd go for the e1800d (make sure your gentle with just one sub)

    yeah they are going to be poo(you get what you pay for from flea bay) i'd say osram silver stars but others may say philips vision plus both equally good and are a genuine upgrade

    yeah got it showing a ad-hoc connection on the laptop but sweet fa on the pc. pc is on all the time anyway as it runs a wired network to the rest of the house.
