Is that price fitted? If not I'd go for this.

The bushes are worth doing.
Does seem that the 90's to early 2000's were a sweet spot to folks like me (simpletons). Abs, fully switchable tc, light weight, hydraulic steering.
Hatches especially. Big na engine, big brakes. Simple. Fun.
The newer stuff is better in every objective, measurable way. More capable, faster...
Modern performance cars are less engaging imo. Fiesta being a good example. I found it so unbelievably ordinary to be in, it didn't feel like a performance car (bar the terrible low speed ride) until you drive it hard.
That duality makes it easier to live with. 100%. But it also makes you feel...
I've had too many 1*2 to count. The mini is a nicer daily, and more fun more of the time. The clio ultimately has the better chassis, but I'd much rather have the mini.
Bunch of wimps ;). I'd drive an elise as a daily if I could live with something that impractical. You have to accept a certain level of compromise if you want a drivers car.
I found the 200 perfectly livable. 33mpg, decent enough ride quality (non cup), fairly quiet on the motorway at 70.
I...
2005 car (facelift) 77k miles
Full service history
Has Xenons, 3 spoke wheel, lsd etc
Since I bought it, following has been done
-15% pulley with matching spark plugs (engine health check including compression test done at the same time)
-front wishbone bushes uprated at the same time (£555 for...
I've just done the 1 ball mod, where one of the backboxes is removed. Bit more noise, loads more pops, but no drone.
If I was changing it I'd get the works backbox. Can be made to fit the standard centre section and sounds superb. Iirc can get it for 200ish. It's pricier for the facelift...
More than welcome to have a look at mine, I'm Windsor way. It's had 15% pulley, gp intercooler, works airbox and r56 brakes. Could organise a early Sunday drive
The change itself is quick. But it doesn't respond to the paddles well enough.
I've not driven the f series mini yet, but apparently the auto box in that (auto, not dct) is more responsive.
Where they tend to rust, that's the bit that's removed for the one ball. Mine cost £80. I'm not too far from Isleworth if you fancy a look at it.
Bar the springs I've got all the same mods you're planning.
@wozza182 have you thought about getting the one ball exhaust mod done? I'm really happy with it, makes the exhaust a tiny fraction louder, but increases the pops.
Don't agree with that. Having something that can be sedate on the commute, but even more focused when needed is a great solution if its implemented well.
Dave.f kits aren't available anymore I think. I found a jcw one cheap and fitted that, same basic idea.
There's a diy guide on minitorque. If you're going for an intercooler, the gp one is the best to go for (but ££), grs motorsport the next best.
If they'd given it a good gearbox, I think most people would find it much easier to get on with.
It's a real shame, as I've had every rs clio since the ph1 172, but after driving a 200t knew that what made all those older cars feel special for drivers had mostly gone.
One of the RS head guys...
Renault interiors have always been crap. We bought them in spite of it. Because they were great drives. The meg shows they've still got that in them.
Hopefully the next rs clio is a proper one. Manual box option, with a decent dct alternative. 4 wheel steering etc. If they get the gearbox...
I don't mean to be a c**t (seems to come naturally;) ) but I can't pay any attention to someone that uses "I only drive in auto mode" in defence of a performance car.
