I had this -

(On the right)
Followed by a nova, another corsa, a cavalier, another corsa, an insignia and another corsa which I'm trying to sell.
The yellow corsa is the only one which is memorable in any way though, it was about 10...
Yeah, I used to be fairly in to the whole 'scene', shows, forums, the lot. I even worked for PVD back in the day (although that's not always the best thing to admit)
Got a bit too much to do to still I think, picking the tyres up tomorrow then need to replace the springs, get the geo done again and do an oil change, bleed the brakes and fit a deeper sun strip, and I'm working this weekend :(
I think Donington will be race one.
There's a minimum weight on the regulations so there's not a lot of point in removing more.
Rear tow eye is mounted to the flat metal in the inner arch, like a chassis leg but not, obviously. Using an M12 bolt and a big spreader plate.
Tyres ordered...
Wallet hurts now.
4x Toyo R888 for wet and 4x Toyo R888R for dry on recommendation from another competitor who says the old (soon to be discontinued) pattern is miles better in the wet than the new one :(
Front towing loop done, had to cut out the plastic lower down than I would have liked and plastic weld it back in above to it didn't look as crap. Looks reasonable enough and it's nice and solid.
Fitted the quick latch catches to the bumper so it can come off easily, the top is held on with...
You'll probably NEED new stuff, regardless of what the rules suggest.
You shouldn't need new pads though as pads are 'free' so if you use the right compound, they'll last longer than a weekend
I considered building a car as it says you can do one for £5k.
Bearing in mind there's £3k of standard, mandatory equipment in each car, before you've considered the stuff you need for the MSA blue book like an extinguisher and a roll cage... I can't see how.
So after the Mrs had a whole day of tuition at Bedford on Saturday, this was the state of the front pads!
So I replaced them with the Pagid RS14s I had, until the other brake kit is ready.
Also fitted the BTCC style tow strap to the rear of the car
These apparently are mandatory from next...
Does anyone know of a way to switch the ESP off permanently?
The regulations for the race series we plan to enter say ESP/TC is prohibited so I need to find a way really.
Removing the fuse also stops the ABS working which isn't ideal.
I've got some of them for my bumper, they're amazingly strong.
My mate uses them on his boot and you can bend the boot pulling on it and they don't budge.
Quik-latch, the Australian company who sell these do locking ones but they're even more money!
Extinguisher and wide angle mirror
bonnet pins
pull cable for battery isolator
Stickers (although I don't think some of them meet the regulations so might need more)
Dzus fasteners for the bumper top
and a rain light
