In regards to the cloth. It's a piece of material made in Asia somewhere paintwork is pretty delicate rubbing it over paint will inflict damage. Did he send over sun gun or direct sun light shots during the detail? Or can you guarantee these swirls were not present before washing?

Not really sure that was my point. Renault use hard clear coat. If other r26rs have this issue then maybe it is an r trait. But Renault of that age have rock hard clear coat... Doesn't mean it won't mark easily.
